Lindsay sighed with favonovel.com as favonovel.com propped favonovel.com regret-fraught face with the thick of favonovel.com palm, “Uh, you should have told me favonovel.com was! God, if only I knew, I would have been on my knees when I saw him! Hell, I wouldn’t have offended favonovel.com at all! Damn it!” favonovel.com moaned, “I’ve been visiting Violet Vision Media Corp these past few days, but man, he’s just not interested in seeing me ever again, is he?”
Allana let out a long sigh and joined favonovel.com friend’s pity party. She was submerged in favonovel.com own tide of melancholy and regret. Their despondency made them stick out like sore thumbs, so much so that they bothered the other attendants around them.
Meanwhile, Zayn and the rest of Faron’s team had arrived at the hotel’s grand banquet hall. He had attended many upper-class parties, so Zayn had no trouble keeping his cool. Faron and Zachary, on the other hand, were visibly a little bit more shaken up now that they were in the presence of the affluent, being amongst these people made them both excited yet also unnerved.
The other five fodders who acted as Faron’s ‘security team’ were even more overt in their expressions. Their excitement and awe made them look like country bumpkins experiencing their first day in the city.
“Don’t get too nervous, pal,” Zayn said to Zachary with a comforting smile, “They may be rich, but they’re still just people. There’s nothing exceptional about them.”
There seemed to be some kind of magic contained within Zayn’s words, because Zachary immediately felt himself be at ease.
Faron, who was within earshot, let out a sneer of contempt. “As if you’re in a position to comfort him, I bet you’re shaking in your shoes, too!”
He had hoped to see Zayn acting lost, helpless, and agitated at the party so that favonovel.com could mock his behavior. However, Zayn was not disquieted by any of the pomp and glamor at all. He seemed so unaffected that it p*ssed Faron off, which was expressed with a snappish dig.
Zayn laughed. “Do I look like I’m nervous to you?”
“Keep telling yourself that, try-hard!” Faron shot back, snorting.
It was then when Zayn noticed Zachary’s dark aura had worsened. It had turned from a faint veil to a black smog that shadowed the man’s whole head, rendering a very unsettling sight that made Zayn furrow his brows.
Of course, that aura was virtually invisible to everyone else in the room except Zayn. It was quite mysterious. Unlike visible light, which had a physical, material origin, auras like these were just manifestations of negative energy that were prone to attracting even more negativity. It was the sort of thing that only the sufficiently spiritual and psychic yearned to identify.
The fact that Zachary’s aura had turned so tenebrous meant that his doom was imminent.
Zayn began to scan his surroundings, hoping to find whatever it was that was the root of Zachary’s torment, but favonovel.com found no such thing. There were no powerful master fighters present, as most of their attendees were normal people. Even those who could swing a punch competently were only as good as expert fighters, who were incapable of any real lethal power.
In other words, Zachary’s perilous misfortune was just a fatal accident, it was fatal to favonovel.com by association. Specifically, by his association with certain individuals.
It was then when Zayn’s mind’s eye noticed that the source of the darkening aura emanated from Faron, which then pooled itself over Zachary’s head.
He frowned in realization.
