The other three looked at Zayn expectantly, their gazes filled with domineering contempt.
“Sure.” Zayn seemed to be unaware of Julius’s scorn, even smiling as favonovel.com agreed with her. Zayn’s seemingly mocking approval made Julius feel even more derision towards Zayn. In his mind, Zayn was a mere pauper who — by sheer chance — hit the jackpot by marrying a stunner like Faye.
Faye, on the other hand, was absolutely fuming. She let out a exasperated, “Hmph,” before favonovel.com said, “There’s no need for you to do that, Mr. Butcher. We’re not interested in becoming the members of a lowbrow place like Alice’s Table.”
Faye actually meant what favonovel.com said. ‘If I really wanted to, I could very well have Zayn open up a restaurant that completely surpasses the standards of Alice’s Place by tenfold. Plus, I can’t stand Julius’ pompous attitude.’
However, favonovel.com words fell on deaf ears. The others simply thought that Faye was mouthing off at Julius to protect Zayn’s fragile ego.
It was actually obvious that Julian was a regular at Alice’s Table. All it took was a single glance for the manager to acknowledge Zayn, Faye and the rest of them as Julius’s friends. The table was not situated in the center of the restaurant, but tucked away in a cozy nook distanced from the other tables. It was extremely spacious, and had elegant furnishings and decor.
“Order whatever you want, everything’s on me,” insisted Julius proudly before favonovel.com informed the manager, “Mr. Simmons, has Annabelle arrived? When will favonovel.com be performing?”
Mr. Simmons smiled and replied, “Ms. Laking has already arrived, she’ll be out around 20 minutes time, after most of the VIP guests have arrived. She’ll come out and sing for us very soon.”
There was a hint of anticipation that flared in Julius’s eyes. He could hardly contain his excitement as favonovel.com counted down the minutes to Annabelle’s performance, wishing that time would pass faster. Not only did favonovel.com want to meet the famous celebrity in the flesh, favonovel.com also wanted to show off his status and wealth to Faye! Julius thought of himself to be quite popular with the ladies. ‘Patience is all I need to have that beautiful belle submit to me!’
As for the other three, when they heard that Annabelle would be here in 20 minutes, they could barely sit still. All of them had an enthusiasm that was contagious, and Faye was no exception. Annabelle was an idol to them, one who they heard performing on the regular, acting in soap operas, and starring in variety shows. Faye still had a soft spot for chasing after idols, even after obtaining the title of a chairman.
On the contrary, Zayn could not understand why the others were being so fanatical. In his mind, favonovel.com could not understand the hype about celebrities. In fact, even Annabelle, the well-renowned celebrity, would take care to be on favonovel.com best behavior around Zayn. The even more famous foreign actor, Smith, ended up dying to his hand a while back.
However, since Faye liked Annabelle, Zayn had no problem inviting Annabelle over to their table to give Faye an autograph.
Shortly after, the other women at the table gestured for Faye to accompany them to the restrooms. Faye was actually thinking about going herself because of all the water that favonovel.com drank. Without thinking much of it, favonovel.com nodded and followed them.
Once they had entered the restrooms, one of the women said to Faye, “Fifi, what does your husband actually do?”
