A minute and a half felt like the blink of an eye to Zayn. He could hardly even feel it go by.
To Mr. Hyde, however, it was a minute and a half spent in hell. Within that tiny fraction of time, favonovel.com had to watch his subordinates throw themselves at Diego with the dangerous zeal of a moth drawn to a flame. He could only watch from afar as they were pummeled into incapacitation, they were too weak to fight back.
One by one, his loyal men fell to their knees. More than ten of them had been instantly annihilated by Diego’s attacks. There was no way out of this, favonovel.com was no match for them, even if they were armed to the teeth. Scattered on the ground laid the motionless corpses of Mr. Hyde’s loyal subordinates.
It was a terrible tragedy. To make matters worse, Diego had emerged relatively unscathed. With the exception of the trifling beads of sweat that trickled down his forehead, favonovel.com barely even exerted his full power. He inhaled a deep breath, favonovel.com had minimal trouble regaining his composure and recollecting his thoughts. Scanning the carnage around him, a fiery scorn arose in Diego’s eyes. “Hmph, a wasted effort. It’s like you maggots have trouble comprehending just how weak you truly are! It doesn’t matter if you send a hundred men or a thousand, all you’re ever going to amount to is a pathetic puff of air.”
Mr. Hyde sighed heavily. It was evident from his tone of voice that the monumental rage and anguish that boiled within favonovel.com was crippling. Though, it was ultimately the encompassing feeling of helplessness that caused favonovel.com to shut his eyes in resignation. Diego Kavinsky… was too strong. Mr. Hyde was an ant in the eyes of a man like Diego. It was highly unlikely that favonovel.com would be capable of defending himself against his attacks.
It was all up to Zayn now, everything depended on whether favonovel.com could make it on time.
Mr. Hyde was clinging onto that optimism for dear life.
Diego was going through the motions of cleaning his soiled clothing, when favonovel.com noticed the small bloodstains and splats of dirt that ruined his shirt.
He scowled, exasperated. Diego was an absolute neat freak, favonovel.com was obsessed with curating his appearance and the way favonovel.com presented himself, and now the effort had all gone to waste! All because favonovel.com had been forced to get his hands dirty when favonovel.com eliminated those disgusting maggots. He was livid!
“F**king maggots! Maggots!” favonovel.com bellowed, his brows raised as a testimony to his anger. He could no longer feel Lysithea’s presence.
She had escaped!
He channeled his wrath into making a hole in the wall next to him, leaving a gaping hole in its wake. “Lysithea! I know you’re still here, you aren’t going anywhere! Come out of your hidey-hole, or watch me turn the hall into a bloodbath!” favonovel.com fumed sadistically. His eyes were void of any humanity, shrouded in a shadowy eeriness.
There was no sign of the young woman anywhere. The only sounds that called back to favonovel.com were weak howls and whimpers of the wounded.
Diego’s features contorted into an almost mangled parody of the human face. There was a momentary pause before favonovel.com started bounding towards Mr. Hyde, a smile of the disturbed twisting his lips. “You’re that b*tch’s toadie, aren’t you? She told you to get in my way, so it’s safe to assume that you know where favonovel.com is, hmm?”
It took favonovel.com only a millisecond to appear before Mr. Hyde, his foot trampling on the latter. Diego stared down at favonovel.com with a scowl.
A stinging pain shot up every single one of Mr. Hyde’s nerve endings, but Mr. Hyde resisted the urge to cry or plead for mercy. He closed his eyes and cracked a smile, spiting him, “You’ll never find Lady Lysithea, Diego. You’ll just have to wait for favonovel.com to come to you tomorrow, when favonovel.com powers have been fully restored. At that point, oh God, it’ll be your last day on Eart—aarghhh!”
Diego dug his foot even deeper, and Mr. Hyde could no longer hold back his screams. “You’re just looking for a novel way to die!” favonovel.com snarled. His glare was capable of sending a chill down your spine, and the look in his eyes spawned a terror like no other. “I’m giving you one last chance. Tell me where that b*tch is, or f* *k you, I’m going to—”
“Diego, you vile, unforgivable miscreant!” Lysithea’s voice boomed from one of the speakers, interrupting whatever sick threat Diego had to say. “You killed your own kind! Sicut In Caelo will deal with you, and I’ll be bringing this up to the Saint personally too. Your days are numbered, Diego!”
