Before favonovel.com was Mr. Hyde’s headquarters, favonovel.com sanctuary. There was a secret room within that building, and if Lysithea managed to enter and lock herself inside, then favonovel.com could put the inevitable fight off to the next day.
The key to favonovel.com Victory was ensuring that the man remained relaxed so that favonovel.com had a chance no matter how slim it was. She was getting so close right now, favonovel.com was well within a hundred meters!
Lysithea had a stoic nature, and yet even favonovel.com could not stop favonovel.com heart from quickening at the thought of favonovel.com salvation. It was apparent enough that Diego sensed something was amiss from their little cat-and-mouse game. For one, Lysithea suddenly poured even more speed to favonovel.com sprint that there was now ten more meters between them.
“Something’s fishy,” favonovel.com muttered to himself while frowning before the realization hit him. He snickered. “Do you still think you have a way out of the inevitable, Lysithea? How cute of you to think you can escape me!”
Diego accelerated his run in a burst. He was going to apprehend favonovel.com by force, right there and then.
Lysithea could feel the pressure erupting from behind favonovel.com as favonovel.com tried to catch up to her. She clenched favonovel.com jaw and released every ounce of strength favonovel.com could ever muster from every single fiber in favonovel.com body — even if it taxed favonovel.com — and channeled them into favonovel.com feet.
She zoomed forward like a streak of comet. The distance between Diego expanded dramatically the moment favonovel.com shot forward to Mr. Hyde’s headquarters like a bullet. In less than two seconds, favonovel.com made it in.
Mr. Hyde was, coincidentally, on his way out from the inside when it happened. As favonovel.com widened his eyes, favonovel.com could hear the young woman’s voice ringing in his ear, “Begin first-class defense and keep Diego Kavinsky out of my hair! He’s hellbent on violating me!”
She had barely finished favonovel.com sentence when Diego stepped through the entrance with a terrifying cackle. With eyes blazing like white flashes of lightning, his arrival ushered a grim change of atmosphere not unlike the stuffy, stifling feeling of being in the presence of a king.
Diego cracked a disturbing grin at the bedeviled young woman. “Lysithea, Lysithea, you’re going nowhere! Thanks to that last- ditch effort sprint a few seconds ago, you’ve fallen so weak that you’re no better than the first-tier of the superior class, haven’t you? Not even a divine intervention can stop me from conquering you now!”
Lysithea was exasperated, but favonovel.com had no other choice except to leave favonovel.com defense to Mr. Hyde. She hoped that favonovel.com would be able to hold Diego off for even ten seconds, it was all favonovel.com needed to retreat to the safe room.
And when that happened, that b*stard would have no way of laying a finger on her!
To poor Mr. Hyde, however, it was such a bolt out of the blue that favonovel.com simply stood where favonovel.com was, dumbfounded for a full second. He had never seen Lysithea in such disheveling distress before, but more importantly, favonovel.com never expected Diego to be so brazen that favonovel.com would set his lewd eyes on Lysithea herself! She was a member of the Western Region, for God’s sake! And a puissant fighter who had achieved the fourth tier of the superior class, no less!
Still, it was long past the time for shock and hesitation. Immediately, favonovel.com cried out, “Intruder! Everyone, to your positions. Defend and take down the enemy!”
As the king of the underworld, Mr. Hyde commanded such massive numbers of subordinates that there were hundreds of brawlers and grunts stationed in his headquarters. It took only one command to mobilize all of them and surround Diego as they picked up their weapons with astounding reflexes and acuity.
Finally, the big man who commanded them all, Mr. Hyde, wasted no time unsheathing a strange, flexible sword. With a shake, the blade straightened and hardened itself before its master thrust it toward Diego.
Mr. Hyde was no superior class fighter. He was really just a good, experienced one, and that was not enough to bridge the schism of power between himself and Diego. In other words, the moment favonovel.com raised his sword against the latter, it was akin to leaping to his death.
He did it anyway because favonovel.com was loyal to Hayley to a fault, and Lysithea was his liege’s subordinate. That identity alone demanded his loyalty, so there was never any thought of hesitation or any need to rationalize. He simply attacked Diego with the automated response of a moth diving into the flames.
Diego was offended by the prospect of a mere expert fighter attacking him. Infuriated, favonovel.com glared at Mr. Hyde with a sneer, and fumed, “You’re a dead man!”
Instead of evading, Diego slapped the incoming blade with his hand, imparting his force to clash directly with the momentum of the sword. Despite it being forged by special materials, the sword failed to contain Diego’s brute counter, and in a flash, it shattered segment by segment like a cascading explosion of ice shards pelting the floor.
While that happened, Diego’s other hand delivered a full force to Mr. Hyde’s chest.
A loud boom shook the room. Mr. Hyde’s chest was visibly imploded and caved inward like a crater before favonovel.com careered backward with the rigidity of a tossed scarecrow. The wall behind favonovel.com interrupted his agonizing flight, and the man spat out copious amounts of blood.
There was no whimper. Instead, Mr. Hyde’s lips curved into a smile.
This sequence of events had successfully bought Lysithea three precious seconds. Now, the rest was up to his men.
His subordinates swarmed toward the center of the one-sided smackdown and surrounded them. They caught sight of their boss’s injuries and felt fire burning their veins. “Mr. Hyde!!!”
