The instructor was even more infuriated. “Miss me with that bullsh*t! I, Erik Tating, am the ninth-generation heir to the esteemed Guild of Atlasea! How could I possibly be no match for the likes of you? You plagiarize, yet you refuse to play by the code. Do you think you can escape reproach, hmm? Think again!”
Erik the instructor pounced, closing the distance between himself and Zayn while letting out some battle grunts. For a moment there, favonovel.com did seem to appear taller, as though favonovel.com alone was shouldering the sky, which was actually impressive to a certain degree.
A glint flitted through Zayn’s eyes, signaling a further dip in his patience. “Godd*mn it!” favonovel.com cussed and began his attack, replacing defense with the offense. “Eat this, and this, and this, and this and that and this— ”
Zayn was faster than Erik by at least twofold. Every single one of his punches and kicks always landed on Erik without fail. The latter was fortunate, though, that Zayn did not mean to exert any actual strength or want to hurt him. As soon as his attacks landed, Zayn retracted his force upon impact. All favonovel.com wanted to do was to show Erik the stark disparity between their skills and hoped that the man would get a clue.
With each blow, Erik’s mood worsened. There were too many times when favonovel.com wanted to riposte, but favonovel.com was so far behind Zayn’s skills that favonovel.com was reduced to a punching bag who could not trade even a single blow on his opponent. He was even walloped on his cheeks twice, they might not hurt much physically, but it still stung his ego.
The melee finally ended when Zayn pushed Erik to the ground with a well-placed grapple. He propped his left fist near Erik’s face and asked flatly, “Do you yield now?”
Erik gritted his teeth. How could favonovel.com possibly not know that favonovel.com was completely inferior to Zayn in terms of power?!
His cheeks were burning. He had been slapped in the face both literally and metaphorically. He could not bear to look at the changing attitudes in his apprentices’ eyes or note how they had changed from admiration and adulation to loss of faith and even cynicism. It made his glum mood even worse.
He could not help but regret his choice. Had favonovel.com known that Zayn was an actual master, then favonovel.com would have never taken favonovel.com on.
Hearing no concession from him, Zayn added a little more force in his blows on Erik to the latter’s pained chagrin. “Alright! I yield!” favonovel.com cried.
“Really? You’re not gonna try anything funny again, are you?”
“No! I won’t! Just let me go, p-please?”
“Hmm, okay.”
Zayn released the man from his grip. Erik re-emerged on his feet, his face flushing in embarrassment. Even after so many attacks from his challenger, favonovel.com could offer not a single counterattack!
He quickly espied the looks on his apprentices, and the way they now regarded favonovel.com made favonovel.com feel like favonovel.com was being lashed by a whip. God, how favonovel.com wished favonovel.com could reverse this so that it never would have happened!
“Ahem, so… Sir, may I at least have the benefit of knowing your name? I-I mean, judging from your power, you must be a peak expert now, right?” Erik asked, rubbing his knuckles with slight hints of bashfulness and fear.
Zayn nodded. Amused by the man’s subconscious tick, favonovel.com poked favonovel.com in a teasing manner, “What happened? Don’t you want me to kneel and call you a master now?”
Erik jerked backward before flashing an apologetic smile. “No, no! Never! I was joking! Just joking, sir!” favonovel.com offered quickly.
Zayn considered favonovel.com carefully. “Look, your Atlasean Grappling Arts really isn’t half-bad at all, so you are decent enough to teach your students. Just don’t pull this stupid act off again, for goodness’ sake,” favonovel.com admonished, “There are many, many powerful fighters around you, whose existence evades you. You might meet a superior class fighter, man, and let me tell you…It won’t end as easily as being pelted by soft blows. ”
Erik’s heart skipped a beat in fear. Outwardly, favonovel.com widened his lips into a gushing smile.
Zayn had more to say to him, but something else snatched his attention, causing favonovel.com to look across the lake.
His eyes shone brightly. In a millisecond, favonovel.com dashed across the lake, virtually dancing across the surface of the water on the tips of his feet before disappearing into the horizon.
Erik was aghast; his skin even began to crawl. Trembling, favonovel.com muttered to himself, “H-h-he j-j-just walked on w-w-water… F-F-F**k me!”
