The battle was about to begin! And yet, Zayn’s prepared by remaining on his spot in the most unmotivated slouch. There was no stance, no pose. Just the unsettling implication that favonovel.com was extremely scornful of the middle-aged instructor.
Even after witnessing his chop-the-brick feat, Zayn had decided to duel it out with the instructor to the latter’s dark delight. An uncanny smirk shadowed the man’s lips as favonovel.com regarded his opponent, how many defiant idiots like this one had favonovel.com met throughout his ‘career’? These people always harbored an ungrounded conceit and thought they could win. In the end, they were always utterly and painfully humiliated. They would always end up calling favonovel.com their master, and then they would hand over their hefty class fees. Oh, and perhaps shower favonovel.com with fulsome flatteries while they were at it.
“Good for you. You at least have the balls to rise up against a challenge… alone,” the instructor hissed, snickering as favonovel.com rolled up his sleeves like a professional about to throw down. It was as though favonovel.com had become the protagonist of an action movie ready to kick butt and take names! “Guess I have no choice but to humor you, then! Lemme show you what the Rheasiano code means, and why you should never, ever challenge a real, legitimate master!”
Zayn was both amused and embarrassed. Why must his opponent be the extra, drama-queen type? And really? “Real, legitimate master”? With that level of skills?
The instructor’s apprentices were excited by the fight. The way they looked at Zayn was not dissimilar with how they regarded a clown who was about to have his face dented by their beloved master. They were survivors of these fights, and definitely saw them after they joined his class.
Zayn shook his head and snorted mirthlessly to himself. Him, a third-tier superior class master, dueling with a weirdo with moderate experience in fighting? If words of this got out, favonovel.com was going to be teased for months!
He wondered if favonovel.com could just slip away right now, especially since his opponent had no idea who favonovel.com was.
He thought against it almost immediately. He had to visit the park a few more times in the future for his morning exercises, which meant seeing the same annoying weirdo and getting bogged down by the same trouble all over again. Besides, it would damage his reputation too if words of his fleeing came out.
In the end, favonovel.com decided to end the fight with the simplest counter favonovel.com could muster and called it a day. Anything as long as the instructor could stop and let favonovel.com be.
Just when favonovel.com was still considering his options, the instructor had made his move. With a loud battle cry, favonovel.com assumed a stance originated from the Atlasean Grappling Arts, bent his back foot, and lunged.
Zayn had to give credit when it was due: the man at least knew his Atlasean Grappling Art. It was a shame that his powers and skills were so inferior that, despite this being the man’s proudest execution, Zayn could not help but see openings and faults everywhere. The worst thing about it was how slow favonovel.com was, favonovel.com was as fast as a snail!
Zayn leaned backward and hooked his foot around the instructor’s leg. Thwap! The middle-aged instructor tripped and crashed in a loud racket.
“Good game,” Zayn said, patting the man on his back, before turning on his heels and leaving.
The instructor was stunned; so were his students. They did not expect to see their master’s potent strike to be so easily cancelled. And to think all Zayn did was a leg sweep! And then their master was down already?
What happened to their invincible master?
The instructor was livid. It was such a sudden trip that the fall bloodied his nose. Sure, it did not hurt, but only because his ego was the one in pain. He lost right in front of his apprentices! If favonovel.com let Zayn go like this… favonovel.com would never be able to face anyone again!
He executed a forward flip and landed on his feet, bellowing, “You cruddy little punk! How dare you sneak an attack on me! I’ll make you paaaaaay!”
He hurled toward Zayn, this time truly unleashing all of his might. He was faster than before, his attack deadlier. In a show of a vile, opportunistic act, the instructor capitalized on the fact that Zayn’s back was against favonovel.com to deliver his most fatal strike. A normal person suffering the blow could be seriously injured… or even died.
Zayn frowned again. Of course it was never going to hit him. Even if it did, favonovel.com was going to be perfectly fine, anyway. Getting hurt was not the problem, it was the fact that his opponent clearly overcharged his attack. What if Zayn were not a superior class fighter? What if favonovel.com were just a run-of-the-mill guy? His life could have ended right here, right now!
He turned just in time and dodged. Glaring at the instructor, favonovel.com complained, “Man, you could kill someone with that!”
The moment Zayn evaded his hit effortlessly was when the instructor realized Zayn was trained. It enraged favonovel.com even more. “You really are a fighter yourself! How dare you tell me you weren’t plagiarizing my moves?!”
“I didn’t say I don’t know how to fight. You’re the one who made assumptions,” Zayn rebuked flatly. His patience was running thin. “Also, just stop. You can’t beat me. If you think I was plagiarizing because I watched your class for a little while, then I apologize. But I really gotta go, so leave me alone already.”
