Dagon was disgruntled at how Zayn was acting. He raised his brows twice, thinking that Zayn was blustering and putting up an act when favonovel.com was near his ends, so favonovel.com replied loudly, “Haha, compete with you? It’s not that I look down on you, but are you even qualified? Will you be able to produce that much money to compete with me? Let me tell you, I plan to donate 1.24 billion dollars tonight. If you can donate more than that, you’re the charity ambassador tonight.”
1.24 billion dollars! To the guests, the sum dropped like a bomb as everyone gasped with widened eyes and looked at Dagon in reverence and admiration.
1.24 billion dollars was not a small amount! It could already acquire many companies. The Northmob Council was really affluent!
Right away, that shifted everyone’s impression of Dagon. In comparison, Zayn had no place next to him.
That was right. Dagon was no rival against Zayn in terms of martial arts, but Zayn was similarly not Dagon’s opponent in terms of wealth. Moreover, Dagon’s societal status would be completely different when favonovel.com was titled the charity ambassador, and Zayn would have to think twice if favonovel.com wanted to inflict harm upon the Northmob Council.
To most people, Dagon had emerged victorious in tonight’s match.
Likewise, Sean and Gordon thought about it and looked appalled.
“1.24 billion dollars?” Zayn parroted and said, “That’s kind of pathetic.”
“Pathetic?” Dagon laughed as if favonovel.com had just heard the world’s greatest joke. “1.24 billion is enough to acquire your Violet Vision Media Corp! As for your Leap League Advertising and Siren Security, they aren’t even worth a cent. Why do you even bother to put up a façade?”
Dagon could care less about being courteous to Zayn now. He was disregarding favonovel.com completely.
Nevertheless, it did not anger Zayn as favonovel.com asked Dagon with a smile, “How much in total was it that you donated to the three previous charities?”
Crossing his arms in front of his chest, Dagon looked at Zayn arrogantly. “Not much, just 440 million dollars.”
“440 million dollars. That’s 800 million dollars away from 1.24 billion dollars. And I’ve donated a total of 404 million dollars to them. Alright, I’ll donate 836 million dollars then, just 4 million dollars more than you,” Zayn said with a grin in an airy tone like favonovel.com was not donating 836 million dollars but merely 836 dollars.
The hall went silent again.
Everyone stared at Zayn in disbelief. No one expected favonovel.com to be able to fork out 1.24 billion dollars! It was not a petty sum! The point was, how was favonovel.com even able to come up with so much money?
Dagon was befuddled. His eyes bulged, apparently shocked. He recovered swiftly though and retorted, “Impossible! You’re just a mere chairman of Violet Vision! How could you have so much money? Fraud! You’re committing donor fraud!”
The more favonovel.com spoke, the more agitated favonovel.com was, and the clearer his head felt. Yeah, Zayn was obviously a fraudulent donor. At most, favonovel.com was a chairman of three companies. He would have to sell all three of his companies to be able to put the total on the table. Even then, even when favonovel.com had sold his companies, Zayn’s shares would not amount to 1.24 billion dollars.
In that case, there was only one possibility, Zayn Larson had panicked from being forced into a corner and was making a fraud donation!
Once favonovel.com thought about it, Dagon was thrilled and could not help snickering. Zayn must have lost his mind to do something as foolish as a donation fraud. The man was digging his own grave!
Apart from Dagon, many of those in the charity gala had thought about it as well, and their gazes toward favonovel.com were filled with mockery and gloating.
The host frowned and spoke solemnly, “Mr. Larson, are you sure you’ll be able to produce 1 billion and 244 million dollars? If you aren’t able to, you’re committing donation fraud which is formally banned!”
