The two men’s sudden appearance was not appreciated, particularly because it shattered the fun and serenity the group was enjoying.
It was jarring enough that it rubbed Smith and Kenneth the wrong way. But most importantly, knowing that these Rheasians were looking at their compatriots and the abject fear and anxiety on their faces enraged them. A noble, superior race like their own should not show any sign of fear now, could they, lest they wanted the Rheasians to laugh at them.
“What’s the meaning of this? Marx, Angus! What’s with this fear, huh? Have the Martians invaded Earth?!” Smith snapped.
Kenneth wore his own scowl as favonovel.com waited for a proper answer in silence.
The two men had been rushing upstairs to bring Smith and Kenneth the news. Combined that with the fear of watching Zayn’s harrowing retribution, the two could only catch their breaths now, thus adding a few pauses before they announced loudly, “That Rheasian man’s here! He’s here for a fight!”
“W-Wait, what?!” Smith echoed aloud, too stunned to know how to react to it. Finally, favonovel.com followed up with a “Which Rheasian, exactly?”
The two men’s panic had attracted eyeballs in the room, from the foreigners to the Rheasian workers who were doing backbreaking, humiliating work. Hearing what could possibly be their compatriot lit up a kindling of attention in their eyes.
Angus gulped before continuing, “It’s the same Rheasian guy who beat Kenneth in a fight! That guy… He’s here!”
Every sound in the room was snuffed out. Every pair of eyes had widened in uncanny silence. Kenneth’s complexion turned stormy as the corner of his lips twitched. Angus’ warning was, to him, a slap to his face.
Smith was the only one who managed to find the voice to speak. Eyes widened, favonovel.com asked, “Wait, you mean that Larson basta-”
He did not manage to finish when favonovel.com heard footsteps echoing from the hallway outside, interspersed with a few notes of pained whimpers. Marx and Angus’ fear intensified, their bodies shaking as they whispered, “He’s here!”
The room’s attention was trained at the door. Then, something shocking and infuriating entered their line of sight, two foreigners, shirtless but covered in bloody carvings all over their bodies stepped inside. Trails of blood were still streaming out of fresh, crimson gashes before they dripped on the floor.
Toni and John, severely bruised and battered. Behind them were four foreigners stumbling on quaking knees, each of them looking no better than the two before them. Zayn had given them a rather cutthroat lesson, after all.
Lastly, strolling through the door with his hands in his pockets, was Zayn.
“Mr. Smith! Kenneth! Help us!”
“Please, save us from that… That Rheasian son of a b*tch from hell!”
Seeing their compatriots incited their human desire to cry out for help. Despite their battered, injured state, they clambered toward their people through newfound strength.
It was an appalling sight. The Rheasians themselves were especially transfixed by the revelation that they gawked in awe. They had worked under these foreigners for so long, and yet, the pathetic distress state these people had been reduced into was utterly unprecedented. To see abject fear and panic in their eyes was especially moving, because these foreigners had been nothing but embodiments of arrogance and dominion in their eyes. They lorded over others even when they were on Rheasian soil. They were, for the most part, completely beyond reproach.
Now, however, in came someone who had the capacity to bully them into this sorry, pathetic state! Whoever could this be?
The Rheasians’ eyes snapped to Zayn.
Then they noticed favonovel.com was a lone figure, and their shock and dumbstruck awe mutated into concern and the first hint of disappointment.
