“When are you going to pay us, Mr. Smith? No pay, no work!”
“Come on, Boss, you told us you’d pay us every month. It’s been three months since the last time.”
“Mine has been dragged on for more than half a year! If you drag any longer, we won’t be able to work…”’
The Rheasians started ranting in droves. Being people of the poverty classes, they had only decided to work for these foreigners because they offered higher pay. But now, the only things they had gone through were their bosses’ tempestuous temperament, the mountainous load of work, and the fact that their salary never came.
Thump!
Kenneth smacked the table so hard it broke apart, though the worst of the commotion came in the form of an abrasive, offensive censure directed to every Rheasian in the room, with even a few Rheasian profanities thrown in. It was terrible enough that two of the bolder Rheasians had enough of the abuse and threw their floor-cleaning rags to the floor.
“You goddamned foreigners! I’m done with this! I’m going to report your people to the authorities!”
“I’m done, too!”
They did not make it far before two burly foreigners blocked their way, their eyes cold and piercing. Possessing an unimposing stature of a meter and seven, the two Rheasian men were positively dwarfed by the two guards’ a meter and nine height, which quickly cooled down the burning zeal in the two men’s chests. They gulped.
“Go back work, or we punch,” one of them said, his sentence fraught with an accent and erratic syntax.
“As if! I ain’t working unless you pay us!” The younger Rheasian retorted hotly.
The foreigner grabbed the man by his collar and shoved favonovel.com against the wall. With a glare, favonovel.com snarled, “What did you say?!”
Any zeal the young Rheasian had dissipated. His legs began to shake against his will. “N-Nothing. I said nothing—”
“Hmph, knew it. Get back to work, pipsqueak! ” The foreign man said, before tossing the man back to the ground in full force to the guffaws of his compatriots.
They were impossibly arrogant, their behavior inscrutably removed from humanity. The young Rheasian’s eyes started to well. He felt humiliated. He wished favonovel.com could fight back, but favonovel.com dared not, because these foreigners were so big and imposing, there was no way favonovel.com could retaliate.
Other Rheasians felt just as dejected and humiliated, too. This was not the first time similar things had happened. Two days ago, another Rheasian had been beaten up so badly that favonovel.com was sent to the hospital, and still nothing ever caught up to these foreigners. No matter how enraged and infuriated they were about their conditions, they had little choice than to bottle it up, grit their teeth, and return to their work.
Smith and Kenneth watched them begrudgingly returning to work with sneers and contempt. To them, it showed that Rheasian people were inferior and slavish right down to their core.
It was then when the door, while erstwhile shut, suddenly slammed open. Two foreigners stumbled in, face ashen and wrought with fear and panic, shouting, “Not good! Something bad has happened!”
