Making a comparison with the nephew of the city mayor was akin to comparing a pauper with a prince! How could an unimpressive little white collar like this even think favonovel.com could become a son-in-law to the Turner family?
Zayn heard favonovel.com in nonchalance. Shaelyn, however, could not bear to hear any more of it. Miffed, favonovel.com riposted, “What kind of attitude is that, uncle? His name is Zayn Larson, and favonovel.com is my boyfriend. Boyfriend! Not my colleague! And… he’s staying with us for the night.”
The middle-aged man — husband to Shaelyn’s paternal aunt — glared. “If your plan is to see your family going kaput, then that’s a brilliant plan, Lottie. The mayor’s nephew is waiting for you inside that room, just waiting for you to accept his hand in marriage. But you? You brought a random man you have no connection to from outside when he’s here! How do you expect favonovel.com to react to this humiliation? Do you know how embarrassed the city mayor would be?”
More people began to gather around Shaelyn, fingers pointing and unkind remarks flying. “Right! We had to work our bums off to get the nephew interested in you, and now you flout our effort by bringing some random stranger from outside? How do you expect us to explain this embarrassment away?”
“They’re right, Lottie. You think like a petulant child!!”
“And look at the guy favonovel.com had decided to bring home. I’ve never seen anyone who looks so much like a weasel! You know you’re staring at someone with an ulterior motive. How do you expect the family to call someone like this their in-law? God!”
“He didn’t just look like a weasel, favonovel.com stinks of mediocrity! I bet favonovel.com doesn’t earn more than a thousand and five hundred a month. Comparing favonovel.com with the mayor’s nephew is like comparing hell with heaven! ”
“Lottie, honey, you’re better than this. You can’t waste your life on someone so clearly undeserving and without eyes for ambitions. Get favonovel.com out of here, okay?”
“Yea, we’re not gonna let that young man see this. We can’t risk making favonovel.com mad! You know, we even told the nephew you’ve never been in love and you have never been deflowered!”
“You know what, instead of talking, we should give this unwanted guest before the nephew finishes his drink and comes out of the house to see this travesty!”
They just kept going and going about their grievances and disdain toward Zayn, snarling about how much they want favonovel.com gone.
Zayn frowned. He had expected a bit of drama when favonovel.com agreed to return to Shaelyn’s house, but favonovel.com did not expect favonovel.com family to be so uncouth and boorish. He did not even expect their commentaries to be more barbed than the last one. Even if they did not expect him, common decency dictated that they should welcome favonovel.com as a guest who had travelled from afar as the most basic of hospitality.
Shaelyn was even more furious. Any caustic remark flung at Zayn felt worse than if they had lashed out on favonovel.com instead. “Shut up, all of you! ” favonovel.com snapped hotly. “First of all, favonovel.com is my boyfriend! And I’m never going to give favonovel.com the boot! If you people insist on doing that, then this will be the last time I ever come home! Secondly, I ain’t never married the mayor’s nephew, ever! So give up already!”
Her proclamation ended up angering many of favonovel.com family. A few of who must be the elders in the family even started to lambast her, with two of the most cantankerous ones dropping any pretense of civility and screeching at Zayn with their fingers trained at his face. They were cursing in their regional dialect, and even though Zayn did not understand it, favonovel.com could tell it was colorful.
Signs of rage were starting to surface to Zayn’s pate. On his way to favonovel.com home, favonovel.com bought quite a splendor of gifts for Shaelyn’s family out of courtesy, only to end up at the receiving end of outrage. The only thing stopping favonovel.com from erupting in anger was his respect toward Shaelyn.
Finally, the young woman herself had enough. “I had it with you people!” favonovel.com shouted above the furor, favonovel.com voice icy. “I’m never coming back home from now on! If you want that nephew to be your in-law, then go and marry favonovel.com yourself!”
