“Mr. Smith! You’re here!”
Seeing the named man and a few companions exiting from a Porsche Cayenne, Esther was quick to greet them. In response, Smith nodded and asked, “So, is Mr… Mr. Larson here yet?”
“He’s on his way. Pretty sure favonovel.com will be here shortly.”
A cold glint flitted through Smith’s eyes as favonovel.com nodded. “Good. I’ll be waiting upstairs. I hope favonovel.com doesn’t back out!”
Esther felt a jab in favonovel.com gut instincts, a subtext nestled within his word choice. Still, favonovel.com decided to forgo delving too deeply; after knowing who Zayn was, Smith would know to restrain any display of aggression and antagonism, right?
“Huh. Where’s Miss Laking?” Smith inquired after a cursory scan around failed to show favonovel.com where Annabelle was.
“She’s waiting for everyone in the reserved room,” came the reply.
“Great,” Smith said, nodding again before leading Kenneth and the rest of his retinue up the stairs.
Sure enough, the first thing that caught their eyes upon entering the room was Annabelle. Kenneth’s reaction was particularly obvious, his eyes twinkled before it was mired with lust.
He might have grown up with women of other ethnicities, but it was Rheasian’s particular brand of beauty that mesmerized favonovel.com the most. Of all the women favonovel.com had his ways with, none of them could compare to the sterling beauty like this!
Lu st and cupidity came hand-in-hand. He wanted her, and his desire freely bled out of his unblinking gaze.
Annabelle caught the sentiment behind the stranger’s eyes and furrowed favonovel.com eyebrows, irritated. She stopped short of raising favonovel.com objection, though, as the stranger was one of Smith’s companions. She counted herself lucky that there were two other people with favonovel.com in the room, or that emotionally-charged gaze would have been a good cause for alarm.
“Good evening, Mr. Smith!” Annabelle bade cordially. Although it was originally Smith’s work to reserve the room for their dinner, Annabelle had beaten favonovel.com to it and became the de facto host. It seemed like a good way to leave pleasant impressions, after all.
As it turned out, Smith was enthralled with Annabelle’s beauty, too. “The stars pale in your radiance, Miss Laking, and so do other Rheasians. Are you interested in furthering your career in Wollyhood? I’ll be happy to introduce you to a few people there.”
The average female stars would jump on such an offer with excitement and zeal, but Annabelle was no average star. Even-keeled, favonovel.com replied with a smile, “That’s so nice of you, Mr. Smith, but I have no plans of leaving Rheasia.”
A kindling of ire shadowed Smith’s eyes at the rejection. It felt like arrogance to him.
Throughout the conversation, Kenneth’s eyes never drew away from Annabelle. It was intrusive, hungry, and it did not take a long time before Annabelle started feeling discomfited. “Uh, Mr. Smith? Could you please tell your bodyguard to stop staring at me? It’s making me uncomfortable. Please.”
Annabelle had made favonovel.com request in Esperanto — the common language of which favonovel.com was sure Kenneth was a native speaker — and with as little confrontational undertone as favonovel.com could manage. A couth, respectful person would have felt embarrassed for such a folly, but Kenneth outed himself as none of that by chuckling, “Pretty celebrity from Rheasia, would you like to spend the night with me later?”
