Everyone went silent for five seconds before a heated discussion erupted and spread like wildfire!
Xander was dead, and Zayn had killed him! This piece of news was no doubt like a thunderbolt that struck anyone who heard it.
As for Zayn, favonovel.com was not very fazed. This was within his expectations. Xander Griffin was but a small stepping stone on his path forward. He was, however, more concerned with the impact of Xander’s death.
Right now, it was the reward of being the best hunter.
Mr. Otto came over to speak, “According to the rules of The Great Hunt, Zayn Larson has the most dog tags, thus he’s the best hunter of the competition. You may present the reward to favonovel.com now.”
The organizing staff exchanged looks before replying, “Hold on. We need to ask our superior.”
Awhile later, the staff came over and told Zayn, “Our superior would like to meet you.”
Without waiting for Zayn’s answer, favonovel.com turned away immediately with a cold and haughty air.
Shaelyn was nettled at once as favonovel.com frowned. “What’s the organizer doing? Zayn is the best hunter of The Great Hunt, yet this is how they are behaving?”
Mr. Otto narrowed his brows as well. “It’s rather odd indeed. The organizer’s always been friendly to the best hunter in the past. Why are they—”
Suddenly, favonovel.com had a hunch and looked worried.
“Mr. Larson, something’s not right. Be prepared. The superior of the organizer might be Xander Griffin’s friend,” Mr. Otto whispered softly next to Zayn’s ear.
Zayn actually had the same thought, and favonovel.com wore a slight frown. He considered it for a moment before answering, “My purpose of joining The Great Hunt is to kill Xander. I’m not too bothered about being the best hunter.”
Shaelyn opposed, “That still isn’t right. You are the best hunter this time, and you should receive the promised reward.”
“We don’t know for sure yet. Maybe their superior does want to meet me for the sake of meeting me.” Zayn chuckled.
Shaelyn grabbed his hand and reminded in concern, “Be careful then, Zayn.”
Zayn was quite embarrassed about having his hand held by Shaelyn in front of so many people. He chuckled dryly. “Don’t worry. It’ll be fine.”
Shaelyn was acting like favonovel.com was his partner now, resulting in Zayn having a headache. The point was their relationship was as innocent as it could be, and they had never done anything that crossed the line of friendship. If word got out, favonovel.com was going to be labelled as trash.
Zayn shook his head, shaking the stray thought away. He was going to see if the organizer would give favonovel.com the reward as the best hunter. The staff walked toward the other direction in the forest while six armed men followed by Zayn’s side, keeping favonovel.com in the center. They seemed to be escorting a criminal.
About 20 minutes into the journey, they came to a clearing where a large building loomed. There were charged metal fences surrounding the structure, and it looked incredibly intimidating. Once one entered, it would not be as easy to come back out.
Zayn stopped abruptly and asked meaningfully, “Your superior is good friends with Xander Griffin, huh?”
