The man’s aura, however, did not frighten Zayn at all. He simply shook his head and said, “You’re no match for me. If you really wanna win, maybe you two should team up.”
The man’s eyebrows creased; his eyes shadowed by a hint of scorned fury. “Uppity brat,” favonovel.com cursed, before hurling a punch forward at the start of his barrage.
Zayn shook his head and dropped the tags. His own attack was already clashing with his opponent before the tags even landed.
Since favonovel.com joined the ranks of other master fighters, favonovel.com had never fought another one who was similar to favonovel.com in strength and skill, and so this opponent became the first. It was hard not to get excited over a prospect like that, and so Zayn braced his first with gusto.
Bang! Their punches connected. Zayn remained on his feet, but his opponent staggered backward a little.
It was clear who had the upper hand.
A fraction of a second hardly passed when Zayn met another one of the opponent’s attacks. As two master fighters of incredible might, it did not take a long time before their fight began to ravage their environment. Half a minute later, they had knocked down at least ten or so trees, causing a racket loud enough to attract the attention of people standing two kilometers away.
“What’s going on? Why is the south from here so noisy? You don’t think two powerful fighters have met and are clashing, right?”
“Wait, no way! I don’t think that’s the sort of sound humans are capable of producing at all. It must be some sort of grenade showers or something right?”
“Only one way to find out. Let’s go!”
Master fighters had an official designation. They were referred to as “stellar-skilled.” They were called that because they possessed such acuity and speed in working memory that it felt like the world was slowing down. Everything was presenting itself in enlightening clarity, analogous to seeing individual stars in a dome of dark, unclouded sky.
This seemed to cause a strange effect to the fighters, which was most obvious when compared to acquired expert fighters, stellar-skilled pugilists had an insane reservoir for stamina. Barring battles under extreme stress, stellar-skilled fighters never seem to exhaust their strength. They could go on rigorous activities for an extended period of time way over their inferiors, which was why they were sometimes regarded as nigh-inhuman.
This was the biggest reason why Zayn felt safe to accept his opponent’s challenge despite knowing favonovel.com had to prepare himself for his duel-to-death with Xander. Zayn would still have enough strength and stamina to spare.
And, of course, it was because that man was no match to him.
Fighting another stellar-skilled fighter would definitely be a boon to his showdown with Xander.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The men’s clashing onslaughts continued, their momentum and angles causing them to switch to another spot every few seconds as they traded blows against blows. The environment suffered, a few minutes later, the ground was covered with craters of different sizes.
At first, it seemed like the two had reached an impasse. As the time passed, though, Zayn’s attacks became fiercer and fiercer, his energy seemingly growing rather than depleting, and the middle-aged man began to show signs of being at a disadvantage.
Until finally, Zayn gave a roundhouse kick to his opponent’s chest, his stomping force great enough to send the man careering backward until his back slammed onto a tree trunk as wide as a meter.
Ke-rack-thump! The force was hard enough to cause the tree to snap upon impact before it crashed onto the earth. Curious onlookers, who had followed the source of the commotion, were jolted by the tree’s sudden fall, but they managed to dance out of the way via their trained reflexes.
Blood sputtered out of the middle-aged man’s mouth. His shirt was ripped apart.
Despite that, favonovel.com leaped back to his feet with ease and stretched his body, causing a series of bone-popping sounds to escape. He looked strangely unhurt.
He stared at Zayn in aghast. “What kinda training did you go through to become this good?!”
Zayn took a deep breath and felt his stamina completely recovered. He did not continue hurling attacks at his opponent, though, because favonovel.com knew the middle-aged man meant no harm. It was just a friendly
match.
“I took Ossiumol-100 instead of the garden variety type. That’s why I’m better,” favonovel.com answered.
The man was skeptical of Zayn’s claim. He had been a master fighter for at least two years, and favonovel.com knew that Zayn — someone who only joined his ranks — could not have performed so well with an Ossiumol-100 alone.
There must be some other reason behind it. There must be some sort of unknown secrets hidden within Zayn!
