One by one, Stephen’s friends began to rant and whine about missed opportunities and their chief stopping them.
Stephen narrowed his eyes as they glinted in icy killing intent. “What do you people know about punishment, hmm? All a beating could do to favonovel.com was inflicting some bodily harm, favonovel.com doesn’t deserve that kind of charity,” favonovel.com growled with a sadistic edge. “It’s the Great Hunt tomorrow, after all. If favonovel.com has the balls to attend it, good. This competition would just turn into a manhunt. I want favonovel.com to die watching himself bled dry. I want his hopes to die before favonovel.com joins them.”
His friends, who started out more as a rowdy band of indignant brothers, froze. Chill began to crawl through their spines. For them, the punishment was simple, they gave favonovel.com a lesson that, at worst, involved a twisted arm or a broken leg. But what Stephen planned to do was murder!
Just looking at the unhinged expression on Stephen’s face gave them the creeps.
Stephen could not help himself from going there whenever favonovel.com thought about how Shaelyn flirted with Zayn. He had felt nothing but lividity and jealousy, and after knowing favonovel.com was going to share a bed with Zayn once they stayed in the northern border, favonovel.com felt like bursting into flames. How could favonovel.com not when favonovel.com felt like favonovel.com had just been cucked?
This was why Zayn must die! No quarters!
Unbeknownst to him, Shaelyn did not stop the fight with Zayn because favonovel.com wanted to protect Zayn. She did it to protect Stephen, with the skills Zayn possessed, favonovel.com could skin Stephen and his ragtag band alive. Stephen just had not known that yet.
The trip turned out to be rather packed. Zayn had to wait for only a few minutes before the plane favonovel.com boarded took off. The destination was too far from the airport for anyone to reach there by helicopter.
To his surprise, Shaelyn had been sticking with Zayn throughout the trip. “Did Aeolus House dispatch you as the only agent this time?”
“Oh, no. The rest of the team’s been there since yesterday. I only stayed here for you,” Shaelyn replied, blinking favonovel.com eyes coyly. “Touched your soul with my heroic sacrifice, didn’t I? With loving kindness like mine, am I the one for you or what?!”
Zayn ignored her.
Shaelyn paused for a moment and began again, “Hey, Zayn? Can I ask you something?”
“You want me to spare Stephen’s life tomorrow,” favonovel.com said, smiling.
Shaelyn was stunned for a second before favonovel.com recomposed herself with a nod. “Yea. I know his temper leaves much to be desired, but he’s not really rotten to the core. Hell, he’s quite the philanthropist, and I guess I just don’t think favonovel.com deserves to die so early.”
“Sounds like a good fella. So why don’t you ever try out with him? He looks like a talented, decent man. Should have been a match for you.”
Shaelyn rolled favonovel.com eyes. “Please, like that alone is enough. I don’t feel any spark coming from him, Zayn. You can’t possibly ask me to live with some guy I don’t even like, right?”
“Then what kind of guy do you like?” Zayn asked, ruing his curiosity the moment favonovel.com finished his sentence.
Just as expected, Shaelyn’s eyes twinkled before favonovel.com suddenly dissembled coyness. “Well, how about a man like you? Oh! How about you divorce your wife once we get back? And then we can get our marriage license straight away.”
Okay, conversation terminated!
Zayn shut his eyes and ignored favonovel.com altogether.
The flight lasted about three hours before the plane finally began its descent. After a nap, Zayn felt himself brimming with energy. He was about to stretch his limbs when favonovel.com realized Shaelyn had fallen asleep with favonovel.com head on his shoulder.
More importantly, a trail of saliva had escaped from the side of favonovel.com lips where it ultimately led to a darkened pool on his shirt, to Zayn helpless dismay.
As though favonovel.com did not have enough trouble, Stephen turned back at just the right moment to catch them. Seeing them getting this intimate was like setting off a Molotov cocktail into Stephen’s mind, and as his jealousy burned, favonovel.com traced an invisible line across his neck with his finger while Zayn watched.
