With these challenges, it was a small wonder that security companies ended up being the game few capitalists would indulge. It was also the biggest reason behind Sean’s worries.
Of course Zayn knew all about his apprehension. With a smile, favonovel.com said, “I didn’t plan to start a big firm right from the get-go, though. Just thought of training a detail of premium bodyguards to protect those close to me, and then slowly increase the investment as it progresses in its size and service.”
Sean nodded approvingly. If this was the system that they were implementing, then maybe it deserved a try.
One last problem was left tormenting him, though. “Sir, from what I’ve gathered, it’s customary for every security company in this part of the country to pay the top-dogs a special visit, get on their good sides, basically.”
“Sorry, what?” Zayn was a little taken aback.
What was this, some sort of holdover from medieval feudalism?
Sean, on the other hand, merely nodded solemnly. “It’s true, sir. See, when it comes to security business in the north part of Rheasia, the Northmob Council claims a nearby monopoly. Therefore, if you want to start a security company, sir, you’ll need to visit them and butter them up. Get their tacit permission, and then you set up shop. Otherwise, your business isn’t going to fly.”
The Northmob Council, again?!
Zayn fixed Sean with a bemused grimace. Why did the Northmob Council have to be involved in all of his affairs?
Zayn thought for a second and asked, smiling, “So what if I don’t want to do that?”
Sean shook his head. “Er, you do not want to go there, sir, honest. The Northmob Council dominates the north in both power and influence, so if we set up a security company without them expressing their approval, we would basically be giving them the finger. They’ll definitely come to collect their dues, so to speak,” favonovel.com explained. “And if we don’t solve that, well! The punishment might affect Violet Vision Media Corp and Leap League Advertising…”
“Wow, I guess I’ll have to do all the visiting,” Zayn intoned, his voice carefree.
Seeing how unperturbed favonovel.com was compelled Sean to make his gentle warning more explicit, “It’s not that I don’t trust you, sir. I’m just worried about Northmob, they have never been an amicable figure to anyone. They are honestly just a gang of thugs, and you’ll need more than a few bags of cash to keep them pacified. You’ll need to show some might, actual, physical might. Get their approval through displays of it, and then you’ll be allowed to start a security company on their turf.”
“That’s not the end of the story, though. They’ll demand monthly tributes too, like some wannabe, gang-slash-mafia, which is why I don’t think it’ll be a good idea to establish a security company at all, sir. If you have a need for such a service, I suggest you hire someone from the Northmob Council instead. It’s a bit expensive, but you’ll feel safe, guaranteed.”
Out of the blue, Zayn chortled loudly. It caught Sean completely off guard. Him, hiring bodyguards from them?
That was ludicrous!
The reason favonovel.com needed bodyguards to protect the people around favonovel.com in the first place was because the gang was his enemy!
Sean did not understand what elicited such a reaction out of Zayn. He looked at his boss with a questioning look.
“There’s no way in hell I’m working together with the Northmob Council, man. I’ll be truthful, I have a bone to pick with the vice president of that goddamn gang. The real reason as to why I wanted to set up a company is precisely because I want to face them off!”
“You what?!” It was Sean’s turn to be shocked. He never would have guessed that Zayn had some sort of bad blood with the Northmob Council. To know all about it filled favonovel.com with abject fear, so much so that it felt like his limbs were frozen still.
Zayn narrowed his eyes and stared at Sean expectantly.
“What? Scared?”
Sean gulped loudly. Of course, favonovel.com would freely admit that favonovel.com was terrified, anyone would if they saw how much of a leviathan the Northmob Council was. Sean might be the CEO of Violet Vision Whose name was studded with fame and glamor, but when compared with the Northmob Council, Sean Wilson was as good as dust.
“Sir, how did you even cross them? It’s not some normal gang, sir. They’re nothing to sneeze at, and they’re definitely not an organization that anyone can afford to offend,” Sean remarked weakly, his face pale.
Contrasting the man’s fear and frazzled nerves, Zayn was very relaxed and cavalier. He leaned back into his executive chair and stretched, putting his body in the most relaxed position favonovel.com could find. “That’s none of your concern. I’m determined to start my security company, and nothing will stop me. I’ll resolve the Northmob Council conflict myself,” favonovel.com announced. “In the meantime, help me look for retired special ops operatives who don’t mind rubbing some elbow grease, or people reputed for their brilliant hand-to-hand combat prowess. I want any and all of them.”
“Then, when the time is right, I’ll personally visit the Council and show them the obeisance they crave.”
