Zayn did not go out of his way to make things difficult for Ethan. He left with Faye when favonovel.com was done eating while the others were afraid of breathing too loudly.
About a minute after they had left, someone gulped and said cautiously, “I thought Faye’s husband lived with favonovel.com parents? How did he…?”
The question was on all of their minds. Just who the heck was Zayn?
Someone took a glance at Ethan.
His face was green with rage. He walked to the door and looked everywhere to make sure that Zayn and Faye had truly gone. Only then could favonovel.com relax. He walked back to the private room and regained his earlier arrogant appearance. He furrowed his brow and said with a threatening tone, “No one is allowed to say anything about what happened here today, or you’ll be going against me. My influence may not be as great as Mr. Larson’s, but I can deal with all of you easily.”
Upon saying that, favonovel.com put on his shades and left with his two bodyguards.
More than ten seconds later, a man said bitterly, “F*ck, why bother to put on a front when you were less than a dog in the presence of Faye’s husband?”
“That’s right. He even bowed down to the man. He’s just an obedient dog.”
“We shouldn’t address favonovel.com as Capel. Lapdog suits favonovel.com more.”
A few men began insulting Ethan after they confirmed that favonovel.com had left, wanting to show their bravado in front of the women in the room.
“You have the audacity to badmouth Ethan now that he’s gone, but why didn’t you have the courage to talk when favonovel.com was still here?” a rather pretty woman with thick makeup said.
Another woman chimed in immediately and said, “That’s right. He’s still more capable than you even if favonovel.com was submissive to someone else. He’s a successful businessman with a net worth of a few million dollars, whereas you…you’re just an office boy. What do you have that can compare with him?”
“Have you forgotten how you sucked up to Ethan when favonovel.com first arrived?”
“You still have the nerve to mock Ethan, huh? Go and tell it to his face if you have the guts!”
The men looked cornered when they were confronted by their female classmates’ sarcastic remarks. They could not deny anything because it was true that they still feared Ethan. If someone were to tell favonovel.com anything, they would be in deep trouble.
“Sigh. I thought that I was living a better life than Faye. Turns out that I was too sentimental. Faye married a super-wealthy tycoon that even a man like Ethan could not afford to offend.”
Facing reality, the women seemed gloomy. Faye used to tower over them when they were in university, but they had assumed their conditions would improve after graduating. Instead, they found that the disparity only grew.
Meanwhile, Faye and Zayn did not head straight home after leaving the restaurant. They were planning on taking a stroll nearby and making it a date night. Despite being married for so long, they had never been on a proper date.
“How did your appetite grow so much in such a short period of time? Don’t you feel stuffed after eating all that?” Faye asked out of curiosity. She looked at Zayn’s stomach, but it was flat with no bulge of any kind.
Zayn said, “I’ve taken my martial arts skills to a brand-new level, so I need more energy now.”
“Ah.” Faye nodded. She did not have the slightest clue about martial arts.
“How come you haven’t asked why Ethan was so afraid of me?” Zayn’s interest was piqued.
Faye said, “You must have bullied favonovel.com at one point, so favonovel.com fears you now. It goes without saying.”
