Ethan felt like favonovel.com was walking on air after hearing his old classmates sing his praises. He was delighted!
Ever since the Aeolus House auction incident, favonovel.com was living under Zayn’s shadow and would have nightmares for nights on end. He dreamt about Zayn bullying and humiliating favonovel.com and would wake up terrified in the middle of the night.
He could not figure out how that good-for-nothing who had married into the Carter family could suddenly become so formidable? Even a mogul like Hanson could not do anything to Zayn. It did not make any sense!
Could it be that Zayn had hit some kind of jackpot or maybe favonovel.com had a big shot as his backer?
The more favonovel.com thought about it, the more confused favonovel.com was. He had dug into Zayn’s background secretly, but favonovel.com was even more shocked after seeing the results. Zayn was actually the chairman of Violet Vision Media Corp and was even Mr. Hyde’s boss! When favonovel.com found out about this, favonovel.com was dumbfounded. The thought of it sent shivers down his spine and it took favonovel.com half a minute to recover.
Prior to that, favonovel.com could not figure out how Violet Vision’s chairman would suddenly appear in Fireflies and even sent favonovel.com to jail. It turned out the chairman was Zayn!
The experience taught favonovel.com a lesson. He learned that Zayn was no longer the deadbeat that favonovel.com could bully as favonovel.com wished in the past. Instead, the man was far beyond his reach. He could only pray that Zayn would not resent favonovel.com or want to make trouble for him. If that were to happen, not even Hanson could protect him.
Over the past three or four days, Ethan was relatively relaxed. He was no longer so easily scared and startled. He figured that since Zayn had not come looking for favonovel.com after so many days, favonovel.com probably never would. His college friends told favonovel.com they happened to have organized a small reunion, and favonovel.com became complacent after hearing them gush over him. He was free anyway, so favonovel.com came rushing over, hoping that favonovel.com could flaunt himself and see if favonovel.com could entice his old female classmates.
“Nah, you’re all too courteous. I’m only lucky that I have a job to support myself,” Ethan exclaimed while waving his hand dismissively in a manner that showed off his gold watch. The pride and arrogance in his expression could not be hidden in any case.
“Mr. Capel, I heard that you’ve established a new company recently and your business is doing very well. ” One of the men immediately came to flatter him.
The smile on Ethan’s face grew wider when favonovel.com heard that. Clearing his throat, favonovel.com said, “It’s not doing fantastic, though. We’ve only received a few million dollars worth of investments. It’s just a small-scale business and we’re still a long way from many of the successful enterprises in Waltz City.”
In truth, the investment made to his newly founded company was only one million dollars, yet favonovel.com boasted that it was a few million. He bragged without showing any sign of guilt, as no one could verify his statement anyhow.
The eyes of all his former classmates in the room widened upon hearing Ethan’s claim. He had them spellbound, especially the single ladies. They gazed at Ethan fervently. The prettier ones with nicer figures were even bold enough to approach favonovel.com with amorous stares.
“F*ck! A few million dollars worth of investments, huh? That’s incredible! You’ve truly lived up to your reputation as a successful businessman, Capel!”
“Capel, is your company looking to hire a cleaner? I can do the job.”
“Mr. Capel, I don’t ask for much. Just hire me as a security guard for your company.”
“Capel, do you want someone to warm your bed at night? Please allow me to be of assistance.”
“Capel…”
A group of people rushed forth to butter favonovel.com up, which made Ethan even more elated. The smile on his face could not be concealed.
It had been a very long time since favonovel.com felt so happy. This was what his life was supposed to be like.
Faye felt nauseous after witnessing the others lick his boots. It was disgusting. How did favonovel.com not realize that these friends were such sycophants that they would stoop this low?
Meanwhile, a male student suddenly said to Faye, “Faye, you mentioned that Ethan would pee his pants after meeting your husband, didn’t you? Here, now that Capel has arrived, prove it.”
Someone else said, “That’s right. You were very insistent earlier. Now that Capel is here, it’s time to show us.”
At once, everyone shifted their gaze to Faye, including Ethan. Ethan was obviously stunned when favonovel.com saw Faye because favonovel.com did not expect that favonovel.com would be here.
A covetous glint flashed through Ethan’s eyes when favonovel.com saw favonovel.com exquisite face, but then, favonovel.com spotted the silhouette standing next to her. Feeling a chill, favonovel.com shuddered and his face turned ghastly pale.
