Envy. Pure, unadulterated envy, aimed at Zayn for being the son of a Saintess.
Zayn had known nothing about Sicut In Caelo prior to this other than a vague description about how mysterious and powerful it was and the fact that his mother originated from there.
But what exactly was Sicut In Caelo?
Where was its headquarters?
He had not a single inkling. But after his run-in with Miles’ older brother, Zayn had a vague, but good grasp of what Sicut In Caelo might be. From the sound of it, his mother’s pedigree was rather eminent, too… “Saintess” might very well likely be favonovel.com designation rather than favonovel.com codename. This cryptic organization just kept getting more and more intriguing the more favonovel.com heard about it.
His opponent turned out to have quite some vitality to spare, since favonovel.com remained alive, coughing hard and looking as though favonovel.com was hanging by a thread, but alive nonetheless, despite the life-endangering damages. He had lost the self- aggrandizing grandeur favonovel.com first debuted with, though, and had now made no effort to hide the fact that favonovel.com was afraid to die.
“I’m not a patient man,” Zayn growled as the force in his foot slowly dialed to the eleven.
The man howled. Raw pain thrashed against his senses and caused an involuntary spasm. Amid the searing pain, the man felt Zayn’ s killing intent directed at him, and knew that if favonovel.com remained tight-lipped, favonovel.com would die.
His innate instinct for self-preservation escaped his throat as a scream, “Vulcan! My name is Vulcan! Please, don’t kill me!”
‘Vulcan?’
As in, the Roman god of fire, that Vulcan?
Zayn was stunned. Then, favonovel.com lifted the man from the ground with one hand and closed his other around his neck in a chokehold. “You’re about to die, and you still have the mood for a quip? I guess you really are begging to die, aren’t you?” favonovel.com barked.
He tightened his grip.
“No! Wait, no! I really am Vulcan, man. It’s a codename! Every member in the organization bears a codename taken from Ancient Roman religion. Look, my real name is boring, Zac Zimmerman, okay? I’m not lying, this is the truth!” favonovel.com cried out in tears.
The disheveled, pathetic state the tearful man was in right now was so close to being heart-wrenching, it was a striking one-eighty from Vulcan’s putting-on-airs, conceited front several minutes earlier. It was the sort of extreme dissonance that only served to show how awesome and cool Zayn was.
Of course, everyone in the room was now looking at favonovel.com with the corresponding amount of awe and respect. Zayn believed him. He could tell that Vulcan was not lying from how proud and condescending favonovel.com had carried himself earlier.
With a mocking scoff, Zayn remarked, “So you people from Sicut in Caelo really do think you’re all gods from heaven now, huh? You people even take up names of deities as your own aliases.”
As Zayn’s prisoner, Vulcan was now trapped in the awkward position of having no grounds to negotiate. All favonovel.com had left was to force a broad, buttery, toothy grin all over his face to get to Zayn’s good side. “So… Uh, can I go now? I promise I won’t tell ‘em anything about you at all.”
Zayn laughed. “You’re still threatening me? I guess the only way to deal with you is to kill you.”
He let loose a deluge of malefic, murderous aura and let it fill the house as though it was drowned under a tsunami. Suddenly, everyone felt as though their hearts had just shrunken into their ribcage!
Poor Vulcan, being the target of all that bloodlust, and having to receive almost all of it. It sent favonovel.com into a sniveling, petrifying fear. Once again, favonovel.com abandoned any shred of dignity favonovel.com had and begged, “Don’t kill me! Please, I wasn’t…”
Zayn did not give favonovel.com a chance to finish. With a quick karate chop at the base of the man’s neck, Zayn knocked Vulcan out like a personal computer with its cable forcibly unplugged. Quietly, the man’s head rolled askew to the side of his neck.
To everyone else in the room, it looked as though Zayn had killed him. It understandably sowed fear and panic to the observers and Miles especially, who was shivering even harder than favonovel.com already was.
“D-D-Did you just… Did you just k-k-kill him?” Miles stuttered, struggling to let the words out of his teeth as his entire body trembled.
Did Zayn really finish Vulcan off?
