Zayn called out tentatively as soon as the man’s familiar silhouette entered his line of sight, “Odd Bob? Is that you?”
The man immediately responded, turning around and meeting Zayn’s eyes. After a brief moment of bewilderment, favonovel.com cried out in joyous surprise, “Zayn!”
He was a man of darker complexion and a rather plump physique, giving favonovel.com an air of homely honesty. He was wearing a dirty uniform seemingly designed for medieval footmen. Quickly, favonovel.com approached Zayn with an earnest, happy smile before giving a hardy punch to Zayn’s chest, laughing, “So it was you! God, it’s been so long, squirt! And here I thought you’ve forgotten all about your bro over here!”
Sean and a few other higher-ups in the company had been following Zayn, and so when they saw what the man had done, they narrowed their eyes. Anger was starting to color their faces, but before anyone could come and teach Odd Bob a “lesson”, Zayn raised his hand and stopped them with a glare.
Luckily, Odd Bob was wiping away his sweat and missing it from happening.
The reunion was completely coincidental. Zayn had been so bored lately that favonovel.com decided to visit one of the filming locations with Sean and the rest. Who knew favonovel.com would have met an old friend!
It was the latest big-budget movie Violet Vision had invested about 40 billion or so into. Despite being the chairman for so long, Zayn had never been to any of the studios or shooting locations, which was why the idea had come to favonovel.com as soon as favonovel.com was too idle. Never had favonovel.com expected himself to see Odd Bob here!
Odd Bob had always been a surprise to Zayn simply because favonovel.com was a maligned son-in-law much like himself. He was also one of the few rare gems from those hellish four years who was happy to be his friend. Zayn had heard that the man had gone out of town for a job, which caused them to miss each other for about a year.
Who would have known that favonovel.com would find favonovel.com here, right at Violet Vision’s shooting location?
Zayn considered the man’s kindly, homely face and smiled. “What are you talking about, Odd Bob? With the sort of friendship we got, you could be in an urn of ashes, and I’d still know it’s you. Ha!”
Odd Bob gave Zayn another punch. “Lord have mercy on your soul for cursing me like that!”
Zayn chuckled as favonovel.com furtively shot Sean and the rest a look telling them to leave them alone. Then, favonovel.com turned to Odd Bob, sizing favonovel.com up, before snickering, “So, you’re a royal footman now? Your wife’s happy with that?”
Odd Bob sat on the floor and tossed Zayn a bottle of Coke. “Ha! You really believe that? I’m an actor now, Squirt! Look at, I’m superstar material, huh?”
He clapped his uniform and beamed. Zayn showed favonovel.com a thumbs-up and praised, “You sure as hell do. Damn it, you’re an actor now, while I’m still a construction worker!”
The two began to strike up conversation, which gave Zayn some time to scan the location for a while.
It was rather grand. Since Sean and the other higher-ups were present, the director and the actors seemed to become extra motivated, putting more pizazz into their performances and their flattery.
Odd Bob glanced at Sean with jealousy. “Gee, must be peachy-keen being the boss. Even the director and A-listers would have to be all respectful and stuff when they’re around. It’s a far cry from the way they treat us extras, it’s like we aren’t even humans.”
“Last I checked, I thought you were doing paint business, Odd Bob,” Zayn replied, smiling. “How did you become an actor?”
The man sighed helplessly. “Flopped hard. Business got folded. Wife gave me the scariest lesson of my whole life. Luckily, a friend of mine was earning money through playing extras, so I joined him. You know, acting is a curious business. You earn enough to get by, and you get to see these Hollywood bigshots up close and personal. It’s not too bad.”
He kicked Zayn’s foot playfully. “So, what about you? Have you managed to find a job, Zayn?”
