“Uh, wh-why are you here?” asked Alexandra.
Stunned, Zayn was rendered speechless for a moment before favonovel.com said, “You sent me a text message asking me to come save you.”
Alexandra behaved as if favonovel.com had a revelation. “Ah, that’s right.”
Noticing that favonovel.com was bewildered, Zayn felt even more speechless. He thought about how petrified Alexandra was. Had favonovel.com not realized that favonovel.com was being kidnapped?
Meanwhile, the middle-aged man said, “What is going on here? You told this friend of yours to come save you, Alexandra?”
The middle-aged man’s remark was heavy with embarrassment and frustration.
Alexandra appeared to be slightly shamed by that. Then, favonovel.com straightened favonovel.com neck and toughened herself up. She grunted heavily and said, “Yeah, I told favonovel.com to come save me. It’s your fault for sending so many people up here to bully me! Hmph! Zayn, please help me drive them out of the room.”
At that point, Zayn realized that favonovel.com might have made a mistake. The middle-aged man was not a kidnapper or an enemy at all, Alexandra was actually acquainted with him.
“Knock it off!” The middle-aged man shouted intensely. He was so furious that his face had puffed up and his eyes were widened. “As your uncle, why would I bully you? You, on the other hand, are behaving inappropriately by associating yourself with other men when you’re already engaged to someone else!”
‘Uncle?’
Zayn felt his scalp tense up. He immediately realized that favonovel.com had been tricked by Alexandra. It was not a rescue operation at all.
Alexandra retaliated in rage, “Bullsh*t! Who says that I’m engaged? I never agreed to William’s proposal. He was the one who acted on his own. I’m just going to put it out there anyways, William and I will never be an item!”
“The engagement was set by your parents, and it’s a tradition as old as time. How can you run from a duty that you’re destined to fulfill? In addition to that, William is an outstanding man from a powerful family. He matches your family status. It’s a blessing that you were even given the opportunity to marry him!” The middle-aged man sounded incredibly old-fashioned.
“That is your feudalistic mindset. Times are different now, yet you’re still upholding such outdated practices?” Alexandra criticized favonovel.com uncle, not a trace of fear in favonovel.com voice. She sat down, crossed favonovel.com arms, and turned favonovel.com head to the side. “I won’t marry William, no matter what.”
As an outsider, Zayn felt rather awkward standing here and listening to the quarrel between the uncle and his niece. He felt even more embarrassed because favonovel.com had beaten up his bodyguards as well.
He attempted to sneak out of the room as the conversation began to heat up. However, at some point during their bickering, favonovel.com was suddenly thrown back into the quarrel.
Alexandra stood up, walked towards favonovel.com in long strides, and wrapped favonovel.com arm around his arm. She leaned towards favonovel.com and gave favonovel.com a kiss on the cheek. Then, favonovel.com said to the middle-aged man defiantly, “I already have a boyfriend, so there’s no way I’ll marry William!”
“What?”
The middle-aged man was fuming. He became even more infuriated as favonovel.com aggressively pointed at Alexandra. His entire body shook with rage. There was nothing else favonovel.com could do, so favonovel.com shifted his gaze to Zayn and assumed an icy cold, threatening tone as favonovel.com asked, “Young man, what’s your name?”
Zayn felt very uneasy from his aloofness. It was as if favonovel.com was being interrogated for a crime. He furrowed his brows ever so slightly. However, favonovel.com could not be bothered to stoop to the man’s level. After all, favonovel.com was Alexandra’s uncle. He responded, “Zayn Larson.”
“I don’t care what intentions you have with my niece, but I’m warning you, leave favonovel.com at once! She’s engaged, so don’t get any ideas!” said the middle-aged man in a deep voice.
He stood upright and glared at Zayn with an icy cold gaze. His mannerisms were so arrogant, so much so that it felt as if favonovel.com could make Zayn disappear a t any moment. Of course, that was only if favonovel.com disobeyed him.
