William’s face was seized by violent horror. He was covered in goosebumps. His hair was standing on end. No matter how firm his beliefs, or lack thereof, were as an atheist, his conviction was seriously challenged by the primal fear that was incited by the potential danger headed their way.
Slowly, mechanically, favonovel.com turned.
There was a man behind him, hidden by the shroud of darkness that was created from the fading light. William could not capture a single feature on the man’s face. It was tenebrous, merely shadow and silhouette, to William, it was a terrifying sight. He took a gulp and backed away from the silhouette until favonovel.com was toe to toe with Howard and the driver. “Who… Who are you?” favonovel.com demanded, his voice audibly quivering.
Howard and the driver were just as harrowed too. They shook like leaves, almost certain that they had just stumbled upon a supernatural creature. The silhouette said nothing, it simply faced them. It looked like it had no intention of leaving. They swore that the creature had burning flames for irises.
Then, it moved. It drew closer and closer to the trio. It never spoke, and that uncanny silence lent to the trio’s growing horror. They were thinking of making a run for it, it was a growing thought in their minds.
Just as they were about to run for their sorry lives, the silhouette had moved from its dark cover into the visible light. His face was in clear view of the trio.
“What the hell is that thing?!” Howard was the first to shriek once more as the driver’s eyes widened in shock. William was relatively calmer. He could clearly see that the person standing before them was wearing a clown mask. It concealed most of the face except for the eyes. The glow of the car lights were reflected off his domineering gaze, making them an even more horrifying sight to behold.
Of course, it was Zayn himself. It was his foresight that had gotten favonovel.com here. Ever since the Ethan Capel debacle, Zayn had covertly placed a tracking device on Faye’s handbag as a security measure. Through it, favonovel.com could keep track of favonovel.com location at all times. Zayn would check every once in a while. Faye’s absence at home, combined with favonovel.com wandering around the outskirts of the city at nine o’ clock at night, roused Zayn’s concern instantly. Its unusualness was what compelled favonovel.com to search for her. Just as favonovel.com had suspected, something was amiss. Faye had become a victim to someone’s nefarious scheme!
He had chosen to take up his alter ego as the chairman of Violet Vision this time around, as it tied into his other plan.
“Who are you? Why are you getting in my way?!” Finally aware that favonovel.com was facing a man and not a phantom, William could feel himself regain a fresh swell of confidence.
Zayn had his eyes trained on favonovel.com like a laser. “William Brown… To think that you’d have the audacity to do something like this to Faye Carter!” favonovel.com croaked. “You’re just asking for a death sentence, aren’t you?”
William knitted his brows as favonovel.com leveled his own unflinching gaze at Zayn. “You know me?! Who are you?!”
“Someone who wants you dead.”
It was an answer that betrayed Zayn’s stone, cold killing intent. It was the real reason why favonovel.com donned his mask, Zayn planned to murder William. He realized that someone must have planned Faye’s abduction beforehand, and that someone was a ticking time bomb if left undestroyed. The only problem was that Zayn could not possibly remove the threat with his real, civilian identity.
Zayn was never a very kindhearted man. He was willing to get his hands dirty if it meant that favonovel.com was able to protect those around him.
Taking in the lethal design of the masked man before him, William shivered. Howard, on the other hand, could not help but feel that the clown looked oddly familiar. Tried favonovel.com did, but Howard was unable to place a name on the masked man before him.
He sensed his enemy’s eyes suddenly zeroing on favonovel.com like a hawk. The masked man’s stare was akin to a javelin that could cut straight to the bone, which left Howard shivering uncontrollably.
Zayn simply glared at favonovel.com silently. He knew that if favonovel.com touched on Howard’s identity, favonovel.com would be providing clues that pointed to who favonovel.com truly was. Honestly, Zayn wanted to kill Howard as much as favonovel.com wanted to silence William. He knew, it was all because of Howard’s deplorable plan that Faye was so willing to leave favonovel.com office and follow them here!
