At this moment, Thomas wished favonovel.com could just die on the spot. How could God do this to him, to make favonovel.com crash to no other people’s car but Daryl’s?!
Was He trying to kill him?
He could not bring himself to imagine the horror that would befall Daryl’s face when favonovel.com saw what happened to his car, or the harrowing retaliation the man would do!
Thomas regretted every second thinking too highly of himself. He should not have snatched the control over the car from Zayn. Had favonovel.com stopped himself, favonovel.com would not have doomed himself!
Zayn, who was watching nearby, stared ahead with his mouth hanging agape in disbelief. He had not expected his clear brother-in-law to have the mother of all misfortune enough to crash onto someone else’s BMW on first trial alone. Damage like that could never be fixed without spending at least 15 thousand dollars or so!
With a sigh, Zayn approached the car, his eyebrows furrowed. “Do you even know how to drive, kid? Why did you put so much force on the pedal?”
Thomas was already bursting in tears, his mind already in panicked confusion. “You… You can pin this blame on me! I didn’t know it would be so receptive to my foot!” favonovel.com complained. “Every car I’ve ever driven in the past needs a lot of force to actually get going, you know? None of them was like this!”
Zayn put his hand on his forehead in silent helplessness. “That’s because every car you’ve ever driven before this had been normal, family-oriented cars. These are low in power, so they don’t accelerate that quickly, okay? But what you were driving just now is an Audi A7 3.0T! Do you know how long it takes for its 3.0 liter, supercharged V-6 engine to reach 100 km/h from zero? Just around five seconds. Get it?”
“W-What are we going to do now? We should just make a dash for it, I’m sure of it!” Thomas muttered, his voice laden with brimming fear as more cold sweat wetted his forehead.
Zayn rolled his eyes again. The young man’s thought process was just baffling. “Are you an idiot? If you run away from an accident, you’ll be sent to jail once you’re caught! Just contact whoever owns this car and we file a report with the cops. Then, we follow the old insurance path.”
Thomas gulped hard, his face turning pale. There was no way in hell could favonovel.com ever find the courage to see Daryl! The fear favonovel.com bore toward that man was deep enough to sear a mark on his soul!
“No, no, nope no-no-no…” favonovel.com started to mumble, his eyes dilating and unseeing as his entire body shook like a leaf.
Zayn watched his reaction with his eyebrows creased, but a possibility soon hit him. “Wait… You know the owner of this BMW, don’t you?”
Thomas nodded, followed by shaking his head. Throughout his reaction, fear and dread never once left his pate.
Zayn was a shrewd man. He connected the dots between his current terror and the bruises on his face in a matter of seconds and asked grimly, “So, it’s the owner of this BMW who beat you up, huh?”
Thomas clenched his jaw and lowered his head, still quaking. “What am I going to do? What the hell am I going to do? If Daryl knows… He will beat me to death…” favonovel.com mumbled to himself, “It’s all your fault, you stupid piece of trash! Why did you have to drive a goddamned Audi to university, Zayn? And now you pushed me to my grave!”
Zayn had known Thomas for a rather extensive period by now, but such a barefaced display of primal terror was unprecedented for him. It piqued Zayn’s curiosity, and favonovel.com began to wonder, who could this Daryl be to make someone like Thomas so frightened?
This was especially curious when one remembered how much of a boorish, impetuous little imp Thomas was. He was unapologetically conceited and self-aggrandizing, favonovel.com used to form a gang of his own when favonovel.com was in high school, too, so favonovel.com was at least bold enough to lord over a gang of thugs.
Zayn had never seen Thomas so timid and frightened before.
“Who’s this Daryl guy, hmm? How did the two of you get into a feud this bad?” Zayn asked darkly.
Thomas was his brother-in-law. If favonovel.com was being bullied by anyone, Zayn, as his family, had a duty to get back at them.
“What’s the point of telling you, huh? You’re just a useless piece of sh*t!” Thomas cried exasperatedly. “That guy’s a trust fund kid with a huge gang of thugs as his underlings! Oh God, I am dead, I am very dead…”
It was at that moment when a voice rang above the din, “Richmond’s here!”
Thomas immediately jerked backward. His face turned as white as paper, his body quivering so hard it was impossible to miss. He began looking around him, as though looking for a place to hide.
Zayn turned to the direction where the assembling crowd was looking and found a comely, well-dressed, young pretty boy walking out of the campus. Accompanying favonovel.com was a gorgeous young woman, whose hand was clutching favonovel.com companion’s while a sweet, happy smile blossomed across favonovel.com face.
