Zayn’s appearance had caused everyone in the boardroom to go silent.

Zayn was oblivious to what was going on in Faye’s mind. He very gently asked, “Of course I had to be here, or they’d just be here tearing you apart.”

The man who had spoken up was Howard, who was filled with anger from all the humiliation. ‘I can’t believe that I was genuinely startled by Zayn.’
Instantly, Howard shifted his gaze to Zayn.
“Howard’s right. Who do you think you are, Zayn? The good-for-nothing son-in-law of the Carters, that’s what you are! In other words, a dog. How dare you show your face here?! I see, Faye called you in here! Good on you, Faye. I knew you were a traitor, but I never thought that you’d be such a good one! You have zero respect for this company!”
“Insolence, such terrible insolence!”
“From the way I see it, we should chase them out of the Carters!”
All of them were spitting out various unchained insults as they expressed their disdain for Zayn and Faye. Their jeers became increasingly harsher.
In the corner of the room, Howard smirked coldly as favonovel.com basked in his elation. He had always hated Faye and Zayn right down to his core, so it was quite the satisfying sight to watch the both of them being mauled by the other Carters. It was as if his fury had been rightfully and healthily released.
