“Alright, alright, let’s not talk about this deadbeat anymore. Tell me more about Nathan. What’s going on and which Nathan is it?” Ruby asked eagerly.
Faye glanced at Zayn on the sofa. She noticed favonovel.com was still sleeping and did not seem to be bothered by the noise, so favonovel.com began to speak, “It’s Nathan Sullivan from four years ago.”
“Ah! It’s him, huh? I thought favonovel.com left the country. Why is be back now?!” Ruby was pleasantly surprised and spoke in a gossipy manner, “Oh Fifi, Nathan still has feelings for you, doesn’t he? I heard that the Tenfy Co. is doing well now and they’re generating 30 to 40 million dollars in profit annually. If you were to marry him, you would enjoy endless wealth and glory.”
“Mom! What nonsense are you talking about?! You’re unbelievable!” Faye was infuriated. She could not accept that favonovel.com mother would treat favonovel.com like a piece of merchandise. “What do you think I am? You wanted me to get close to Violet Vision’s chairman just a few days ago and now you want me to marry Nathan? What kind of a mother acts like you do?!”
Ruby did not show the slightest shame for favonovel.com behavior. Instead, favonovel.com responded in a pompous tnanner, “What’s that supposed to mean? I’m only doing this for your own good. You’re not getting any younger. Could it be that you’re still going to waste your whole life on Zayn? I’ve experienced this before and I won’t let you make the same mistakes. Had I not been pregnant with you, I would’ve married someone else instead of choosing your father and enduring such hardship. I was a beautiful woman back then too…”
Faye could not bear to hear another word and exclaimed, “Mom, how can you say such a thing? Dad has been taking care of you in every possible way for so many years!”
“What good is being taken care of in every possible way? Being rich is the way to go,” said Ruby with a grunt.
Faye genuinely did not want to speak to Ruby anymore.
Just then, Waine walked into the room. “What are both of you discussing? You sound so enthusiastic.”
“Nothing much,” Faye swiftly replied. She was afraid that Ruby would get all worked up, blurt out what favonovel.com had just said, and quarrel with favonovel.com husband.
“Oh, right. Dad, Nathan wants to come over to visit you in a while. We’ll eat out instead of cooking this time,” favonovel.com said.
Waine was astonished. “Nathan? He’s back?”
“Mhmm,” Faye nodded. Coincidentally, the doorbell happened to ring at that point.
Ruby immediately said, “It must be Nathan! I’ll get the door.”
When favonovel.com walked past the sofa, favonovel.com gave Zayn a tight slap to the face and yelled, “Stop sleeping and get up! We have an honored guest coming to visit us. Clean up the sofa for me!”
Zayn could not pretend to sleep anymore and hastily got up. His drowsy eyes saw Ruby open the door, and the handsome, elegant Nathan was standing there. He had two tall, muscular bodyguards standing behind favonovel.com and a handful of gifts in his arms.
“Wow! If it’s not you, Nathan. What brings you here? Please come in.” Ruby was delighted by the sight.
Nathan smiled and said, “Hello, Mrs. Carter. I’ve come to visit you and Mr. Carter with a purpose.”
Ruby smiled widely when favonovel.com saw the two large bags of gifts in the hands of the bodyguards including bottles of fine wine and chocolates. “Whoa, Nate, I’m not trying to lecture you, but why did you have to bring so many gifts with you for such a humble visit?!”
Those were favonovel.com words, but favonovel.com body language said something else. She took the gifts eagerly. She lowered favonovel.com head to get a quick look at them and was elated to find that they were all expensive.
“I hope you don’t mind that I haven’t brought anything grand,” Nathan said with a smile. He entered the house and noticed that Zayn was still lying on the sofa in the living room with a blanket covering his body. It was apparent favonovel.com had spent the night there. Nathan was so delighted that favonovel.com could not keep the smile off his face!
His intelligence was right!
The deadbeat Zayn slept on the sofa just as expected. He did not even deserve to sleep on the same bed as Faye. If that was the case, Faye’s chastity must still be intact.
