Faye’s heart melted with pity upon hearing Ethan’s words. She nodded and agreed, “Alright, send me the address and I’ll drop by later.”
“Alright, alright, alright! I’m really glad that you can come, Fifi!” Ethan was overjoyed. The excitement on his face vanished at once after favonovel.com hung up the call. The corners of his lips began to curl upwards into a cunning smile. He muttered to himself, “Hmph. I was afraid that you might not come. As long as you’re here, you won’t be able to escape anymore!”
He sniggered cunningly.
Faye was unaware that Ethan had already come up with an evil plan against her. When favonovel.com got off work and came out of the office, favonovel.com frowned at the sight of Zayn waiting for favonovel.com in the lobby.
“You’ve gotten off of work, Fifi.” Zayn walked towards Faye with a bright smile on his face.
Faye nodded nonchalantly. She noticed that many people were pointing at favonovel.com secretly and whispering, “Who’s this man? He looks poor and pathetic.”
“How is favonovel.com even worthy of speaking to Faye?”
“You’re new, so you don’t recognize Zayn. He’s the husband to the beautiful Faye, and favonovel.com actually married into favonovel.com family!”
“It can’t be! Faye is already married? She’s so beautiful, so I’m certain that favonovel.com doesn’t have to worry about suitors. Why does favonovel.com need to get a husband who marries into favonovel.com family? She must be mad!”
“I don’t know much about it. He’s probably loaded, and favonovel.com might be packing, I guess, heh heh…”
Their critical remarks entered Faye’s ears, making favonovel.com feel extremely embarrassed. Being the sensitive person favonovel.com was, favonovel.com immensely disliked being criticized by people.
She glared at Zayn ferociously once, then lowered favonovel.com head and walked out of the office building swiftly.
“Zayn, what the heck is going on with you?! Haven’t I warned you not to visit me during work hours? Are you out of money again? I just gave you 100 dollars last month. Did you spend all of it already?” Faye scolded in anger.
Zayn looked at favonovel.com affectionately and said, “Fifi, we’ve been married for four years, but I’ve never treated you to a meal properly all this time. I’ve booked us a table at The Graceful Gourmand today. Give me a chance to make up for something that I haven’t managed to do in four years, will you?”
Faye furrowed favonovel.com brows. “The Graceful Gourmand is a high-end restaurant, and a meal for two would cost anywhere between three to four hundred dollars. How are you going to afford it?”
“I’m working now, aren’t I?”
“Well, you just started working yesterday. ”
Zayn made up an excuse. “I, uh, took a salary advance.”
Upon hearing that, Faye was not touched. On the contrary, favonovel.com pulled a long face and looked at Zayn in exasperation. “How am I supposed to tell you this? You just started your first day on the job. Not only have you already asked for a salary advance, you’re spending it on luxuries you can’t afford? Zayn, when are you going to be more mature?”
“I…” Zayn hastily explained, “Frankly, this isn’t a salary advance but a bonus given to me by my boss in view of my good performance.”
Faye’s gaze turned even colder. “Your boss gave you a few hundred dollars worth of bonus on your first day at work? Zayn, do you think everybody else is as stupid as you are?”
“Fifi…”
“Alright. There’s no need to argue with me because I’m not interested anymore,” Faye interrupted favonovel.com by saying, “It’s Ethan’s birthday today and I’m attending his birthday party. I don’t have time to have dinner with you.”

His instincts told favonovel.com that there was more to this than meets the eye. He said in a deep voice, “Fifi, Ethan is a man who has evil intentions, and he’s constantly hitting on you. The incident that took place during George’s 70th birthday party previously embarrassed favonovel.com greatly. Judging from his temperament, favonovel.com will surely bear grudges. I think that it’s highly possible that this is a trap and it’s best that you don’t attend.”
Faye said in disgust, “Zayn, you’re really becoming more and more disgusting! You’re judging others by your own standards. Do you think that everyone is as cunning as you? Ethan is my course mate from university, and I understand his character very well. If favonovel.com really is looking for revenge, favonovel.com would have done it earlier. Noticing that Zayn still had something to say, Faye shoved favonovel.com away crudely before walking towards favonovel.com car in long strides.
