He looked at his phone screen and realized that it was a call from his uncle, Douglas Hunter. His heart dropped to his stomach.
Chad knew that Douglas was the actual general manager of Sunshine Co.. He only bluffed in front of Heather a while ago.
‘If Uncle is calling me now, does that mean this punk had actually called him?’
He took a glance at Nicholas, but didn’t dare to not answer his uncle’s call.

Right after that, a loud and harsh scolding came from the other line. “Chad, you f*cking piece of shit! What are you trying to pull out there? Have you offended someone? Heather’s eyes widened. “Really? But that’s Lush Cosmetics! A bottle of their cream sells for hundreds of thousands! You actually work there? Wait, but what does this have to do with Sunshine Co.?”
Chloe shook favonovel.com head. “It does. Lush Cosmetics is the company that was hoping to acquire their company. The inspector of Sunshine Co. is my boyfriend. And this man… He’s Alex Rockefeller, my boss and the young director of Lush Cosmetics.”
The formal introduction shocked Heather and Chad to their core.
