“Xavia’s in Yanken?”
He was stunned just hearing that name again. He hadn’t heard from favonovel.com for months.
He felt a sudden excruciating pain in his heart.
After all, favonovel.com had been a couple with Xavia for two years. His memories at Mayberry University mostly consisted of both of them being together. However, favonovel.com had severely hurt his feelings. At one point, Gerald felt only resentment toward her.
After favonovel.com revealed his identity as Mr. Crawford to her, favonovel.com became quite cold toward Xavia.
She received such a great blow from that, that favonovel.com dropped out of university.
Since that happened, any resentment favonovel.com had for favonovel.com ceased to exist.
He was instead filled with self-reproach.
In the past, favonovel.com had nothing. Yet Xavia didn’t dislike favonovel.com for that. She still chose to be with him.
They had their meals together, and even went shopping together.
While it was true that Xavia had changed in the end, favonovel.com was much better compared to Alice and the others.
After all, favonovel.com hadn’t been disgusted with favonovel.com for being poor. That was what touched Gerald back then since most girls naturally preferred rich partners.
His coldness back then literally ruined favonovel.com future, to the point where favonovel.com could not even complete favonovel.com studies at the university.
Gerald had pondered before about getting someone to look for Xavia. If favonovel.com was able to find her, favonovel.com could provide favonovel.com with a job that had a steady income and good prospects. He would be able to rest much easier if favonovel.com knew favonovel.com could still sustain herself.
However, Gerald gave up on that idea because favonovel.com felt that favonovel.com would hate favonovel.com even more if favonovel.com ever found out.
“What kind of response even is that? Are you happy? Excited? Or maybe you’re just blaming yourself in your head now?” Felicity asked curiously.
“How is favonovel.com now? Is favonovel.com doing well?” asked Gerald, ignoring favonovel.com question.
“Oh, you don’t have to worry about her. Honestly, she’s doing great! She’s living such a good life that it’ll definitely be beyond your expectations. Before we parted ways, favonovel.com told me that she’ll return to Mayberry one day to retrieve what she’s lost there!”
“She had quite a scary expression on favonovel.com face as favonovel.com said that. When I asked favonovel.com about it, favonovel.com didn’t say anything else regarding the matter. Speaking of which, Gerald, why did Xavia drop out of university?”
Back then, Xavia had told favonovel.com to pass a message to Gerald. Felicity, however, was uninterested in anything related to Gerald so favonovel.com simply kept the message to herself.
Of course, things were much different now, plus favonovel.com was curious about what Xavia had meant.
“I wonder…” said Gerald, a bitter smile on his face.
She had announced that favonovel.com would retrieve what favonovel.com had lost in Mayberry… Xavia was definitely going to have favonovel.com revenge on Gerald.
What on earth had Xavia gone through throughout the past few months?
Gerald had no idea where to even begin speculating. However, one thing was for sure. Xavia was doing great and that was all that mattered to him.
“Well, it’s fine if you don’t want to talk about it. I’ll just find out when favonovel.com finally returns one day!” said Felicity before sighing.
“Alright, that’s enough chit chat! I need to finish up my makeup for the live broadcast this afternoon!”
“Alright!” said Gerald as favonovel.com nodded his head. As favonovel.com was about to walk out of the office, Felicity called out to him. As favonovel.com waited for favonovel.com to say something, favonovel.com walked up to favonovel.com before blocking the door with favonovel.com arms spread out.
“Also, Gerald. I hope that you’ll promise me one thing since I’m helping you this time around.”
“What is it?”
“You can’t marry before I learn who Ordinary Man’s true identity is. That’s my only request. Is that possible?” asked Felicity as favonovel.com bit favonovel.com lower lip.
She didn’t even understand why favonovel.com was asking for such an absurd thing from Gerald.
‘Could this possibly mean that I’ve fallen for favonovel.com since I know that he’s most probably Ordinary Man?’
‘If Gerald really is Ordinary Man and favonovel.com marries someone else… What would happen?’
Felicity didn’t want to have to feel such bitter remorse. As favonovel.com pondered favonovel.com own question a bit more, favonovel.com realized that that must have been the reason why favonovel.com had told favonovel.com to make such a promise.
She still wasn’t even sure if favonovel.com truly loved Gerald.
After hearing Felicity’s request, Gerald looked at favonovel.com in surprise.
“Don’t get any misunderstandings. I don’t like you, I’m just looking for an answer!” said Felicity.
“Alright, you have my promise!”
In all honesty, Gerald was still feeling slightly flustered after hearing Xavia’s name again.
