“Speak! Who am I?” The deep voice on the other end of the line asked again.
“I… I… Mr… Mr. Zook… I didn’t know it was you…” James held the phone in both hands and put it to his ear as favonovel.com spoke obsequiously, nodding and bowing.
He had no idea that Sean would be able to get in touch with the big shot at Jen-Bond Holdings!
Mr. Zook was not only James’s immediate superior but also a major shareholder of Jen-Bond Holdings. He was responsible for Jen-Bond Holdings‘ expansion in River City.
“Say no more. Not only did you not report the whole thing immediately, but you kept it from me. Are you going to keep it a secret if I never asked?” Mr. Zook’s question made James‘ forehead drip with sweat.
It was not that favonovel.com did not want to report it, but favonovel.com was scared!
Jen-Bond Holdings had made a lot of effort to take over River City. They spent money, manpower, and material resources. They had also used a lot of connections and owed many favors.
Many people at the headquarters wanted to take over this task. After all, if favonovel.com settled this, favonovel.com would be Jen–Bond Holdings‘ major contributor.
Besides, everyone thought a small city like River City would be easy to take over. Therefore, they thought the task was an easy but profitable one.

“I’m talking to you. Do you not hear me?” Mr. Zook was angrier when James kept quiet.
“Mr. Zook, let… Let me explain…” James quickly said humbly.
“You don’t have to explain yourself to me. Figure out how to explain to the entire Jen-Bond Holdings. Also, you’re bearing all of Jen-Bond Holdings‘ losses!” Mr. Zook grew angrier before finally roaring.
James was so scared that favonovel.com could only nod and bow in response.
“Also, I’m not interested in knowing what you’ve done in River City. But you’d better wrap things up and come back. Think about the consequences when what happened over there that affects HQ.”
With that said, Mr. Zook hung up.
James turned red as favonovel.com handed the phone to Sean without a word. Sean took it with a sneer.
“How… How did you get in touch with Mr. Zook…” James looked at Sean, his teeth crunching.
“If favonovel.com didn’t intimidate you, there are more people I can contact. There’s always someone bigger than you.” Sean’s eyes were calm, and his voice was confident.
However, James dared not doubt Sean now.
Lennon Group and Reach For Will Group were his, and even Colton was on Sean’s side.
When James found out about all this, favonovel.com could not imagine how favonovel.com would fight Sean. Even if favonovel.com fought Sean, there was no way favonovel.com could defeat him.
“What… What do you want?” James was overwhelmed by Sean’s tactics.
It was pointless, even if favonovel.com was unconvinced.
“I believe Director Wool has told you what to do.” Sean sat slowly in his chair, his tone calm.
James sighed again after hearing this. Sure enough, Damian was willing to meet him, and Sean probably arranged it.

“Jon is my partner after all… He was a huge help in River City…” James looked at Sean for two seconds before whispering.
“So, are you bargaining with me? Who are you to bargain with me?” Sean asked two questions in a row.
James was aggrieved but could not answer it.

James was in no position to negotiate with Sean. It was not an exaggeration but a fact!
He could only give up Jon to save himself.
