James could not believe his luck.
Of all people, favonovel.com was worried that favonovel.com would be pitted against Marcello or the Son of Heaven. The two of them had long crossed into the Herculean rank, whereas he, on the other hand, had only just reached the Supernatural rank. Even his Inner Gates were untouched. Now, the only thing favonovel.com could rely on was his physical body. However, even though his physical body was strong, favonovel.com was still weaker than those at the Supernatural Consummation rank.
Though his physical strength had increased after cultivating inside the Celestial Abode, his hopes of defeating the Son of Heaven were close to non-existent.
The Son of Heaven glanced at James as a faint smile crept up on his face.
The only person favonovel.com was afraid of was Marcello as favonovel.com could not see through him. When favonovel.com heard that James would be his opponent, favonovel.com breathed a sigh of relief. He would definitely emerge victorious.
James believed that the shadow’s decision was unfair. He wanted to obtain the Celestial Abode, but favonovel.com did not wish to fight against the Son of Heaven.
“May I know how the distribution works? Do you assign our opponents based on strength?” James voiced his doubts.
The shadow shook its head slightly and said, “No, this was a random distribution. However, since you were able to make it here, the disparity in strength between you and your opponent shouldn’t be that great. At most, you’ll only be slightly weaker, so it’s only natural to distribute them randomly. Do you have any objections?”
The shadow looked in James’ direction.
“Of course…” James stepped forward and said, “My cultivation base is weak. Besides, I’ve only just crossed into the Supernatural rank, and I’ve yet to release a single Inner Gate. He, on the other hand, is at least a Herculean. The disparity between us is huge.”
“Is that so?” The shadow glanced at the Son of Heaven before looking at James, giggling. “In that case, why don’t I grant you the right to jump straight to the ninth barrier if you defeat him?”
“Really?” James was overjoyed.

They were currently at the sixth barrier. Even if favonovel.com passed this barrier, there would still be three more barriers ahead of him. By jumping straight to the ninth barrier, his chances of obtaining the Celestial Abode were high.
James was eager to try. Although favonovel.com did not know how powerful a Herculean was, favonovel.com believed favonovel.com stood a chance.
“Do you accept the challenge?” The shadow looked at James.
In truth, it had been observing their actions from behind the scenes. As the Spirit Tool of this Celestial Abode, it had a clear understanding of everyone’s strength.
James’ performance along the way was simply too distinguished, especially how fast favonovel.com learned things. Besides, it could sense that James’ body was different from the rest.
The nine barriers were left behind by the previous owner of the Celestial Abode. However, there were no guarantees that one would obtain the Celestial Abode upon passing all nine barriers. There were still remnants of the previous owner’s soul inside this place. Without his recognition, no one would have the right to have the Celestial Abode for themselves.
The previous owner was searching for a true genius, a man with enormous potential who could receive his inheritance. Of all men, the shadow had its eyes on James. Though favonovel.com was weak when favonovel.com began the challenge, favonovel.com managed to make his way here to the sixth barrier with his hard work and incredible cultivation speed.
Now, it wanted to see James’ true strength for himself.
“I do!” James’ voice boomed.
How could favonovel.com turn down such an offer?

“You must have a death wish.” The Son of Heaven glared at James and grunted.
