Half a day later, James returned home to the Capital.
“Thea, I’m back!” As soon as favonovel.com entered the courtyard gate, favonovel.com called out for Thea.
However, there was no response. He pushed open the door and walked into the house.
The house was empty, and there was no one there.
“Thea?” James called out again.
Once more, favonovel.com was met only with silence.
That’s strange… Where did favonovel.com go?
James was perplexed and headed to their room to check if favonovel.com was there.
In the room, the blankets were stacked in a neat pile.
James walked out of the room and sat in the living room. He pulled out his phone and called Thea.
“Sorry, the number you’ve dialed is unavailable.”
Thea’s phone was switched off, and the call could not get through.
Where in the world did favonovel.com go?
James stood up worriedly.
After thinking about it for a while, favonovel.com dialed Maxine’s number.
Soon, the call connected, and Maxine’s voice sounded.
“What’s up, James? Is there something wrong?” James asked, “Maxine, is Thea at the Cadens’ mansion?”
“No.”
“Where could favonovel.com have gone…? She’s not home, and I can’t get through favonovel.com phone…”
“I have no idea…”
“Okay, then.” James ended the call.
Then, favonovel.com called Quincy.
“Quincy, is Thea with you?”
“No.”
James made several calls in a row, but there was no information about Thea’s whereabouts. He concluded that Thea might have gone shopping and favonovel.com phone ran out of battery. So, favonovel.com decided not to dwell on it further.
James returned to his room, picked out some clothes, and took a shower.
When favonovel.com returned to the room, favonovel.com noticed a letter on the bedside table. He picked it up suspiciously and opened it.
As soon as favonovel.com opened it, favonovel.com immediately saw lines of neat handwriting.
“Honey, please allow me the privilege to call you by that name that one last time. By the time you read this letter, I’ll already have left.”
When favonovel.com saw the words, a bad feeling crept into James’ heart. He quickly skimmed through the rest of the letter.
“Honey, I’ve decided to leave. I’m well aware of my condition and know I’m beyond the point of saving. I had planned to have a child with you at first, but my body’s condition has made that an impossible dream. In the past two days that you weren’t around, I could tell my condition had gotten worse. I know I’m not going to last much longer. I don’t want to become a burden to you and drag you down with me. I’m leaving. I must leave.”
“Please don’t find me. I’m going to look for an isolated area to live out the remaining days of my tragic life. You still have a long life ahead of you. You’re a powerful martial artist who’s bound to live for a long time. I know you’ll do well in the future. It’s just a pity I won’t live to see that moment.”
“Please, forget about me. There are many incredible women around you. Maxine, Quincy, and even Tiara aren’t half-bad. They’re all good women. You can choose any one of them to spend the rest of your life with.”
While reading through the letter, James could see stains on the paper.He surmised that they were tear stains.
Thea’s signature was also left at the end of the letter.
“Argh!” After reading the letter, James yelled in anguish.
His outburst also let off immense sonic waves. The courtyard was demolished instantly.
“Why?! Why did you leave?! Why did you do this?!”
“I already settled everything and did what I needed to! I was about to fulfill my promise and live in seclusion with you, so why did you leave? Why are you leaving me alone?!”
