A convoy stopped at the foot of a hill.
Three people got off the convoy. They were James, Thea, and Maxine.
Maxine pointed at a courtyard at the foot of the hill and said, “This is the Sullivans’ residence. Let’s get moving.”
Then, favonovel.com walked toward the Sullivans’ residence with James and Thea following close behind.
Soon, they arrived there.
Before they even knocked on the door, the door opened, and a twenty-year old-looking man walked out.
He was Skylar Sullivan, a disciple of the Sullivans’ main branch and Maxine’s suitor.
Skylar was playing around with a pair of car keys in his hand.
Noticing there was someone by the door, favonovel.com unconsciously lifted his head. Upon seeing James and the others, a shiver ran down his spine.
He stumbled back into the courtyard and screamed at the top of his lungs, “Help, James is here!”
News of James defeating the Johnstons’ Patriarch had spread. Now, they knew of James’ unrivaled strength.
Hearing Skylar’s scream, the Sullivans gathered at the front door armed to the teeth. Some were carrying long swords, some were carrying rifles; some were holding heavy weaponry.
“Who do you think you are?!” a roar came.
A fat man walked out. It was Zaiden, Patriarch of the Sullivans.
He was around forty years of age.
Looking at James and the others, Zaiden’s face darkened, and favonovel.com said coldly, “How dare you make your way here to the Sullivans, James?! Do you seriously think that you’re invincible?”
James froze.
What a false accusation that was.
He was only here to inquire the Sullivans whether it was Mr. Gabriel who told them about his strength.
“S-Stay away, James…” Skylar hid behind Zaiden.
Though favonovel.com was holding a sword in his hand, his hands were shivering.
He was extremely fearful of James. After all, favonovel.com antagonized favonovel.com while favonovel.com was at the Cadens’ mansion back then. He was concerned about James’ reprisal.
Looking at the Sullivans who were wearing fearful expressions on their faces, James smiled and said, “Patriarch of the Sullivans, I come in peace. I’m just here to ask about something. Besides, we don’t have a grudge between the two of us. There’s no need for us to be so hostile to one another.”
Hearing this, Zaiden breathed a sigh of relief.
Skylar’s scream gave favonovel.com a false impression. He really thought James was here to massacre them all.
“What is it, then?”
Although favonovel.com was relieved, favonovel.com was still on high alert. After all, James was so powerful that the Sullivans were no match for him, save for perhaps the Grand Patriarch. Even so, the Grand Patriarch might not stand a chance too.
James said, “I’d like to know where you received news that my strength increased because I cultivated the martial art in the four paintings.”
Hearing this, Zaiden fell silent.
He was contemplating whether or not to reveal the truth to James. As the Patriarch of one of the Ancient Four, favonovel.com had a certain understanding of the dynamics of the outside world. He knew that the faction Yaroslav was a part of opposed the King. Meanwhile, as the Dragon King ofthe Southern Plains, James was on the side of the King and the nation.
After a moment, favonovel.com said, “It’s Yaroslav.”
Maxine asked, “Are you referring to Mr. Gabriel who’s behind the previous Emperor?”
“Yes,” Zaiden nodded.
Hearing this, Maxine shot James a look, as if saying that favonovel.com had been right all along.
James asked, “Could you provide me with more details about Mr. Gabriel?”
