The day went by in a blink of an eye, and soon it was the next day.
Hank woke up early and got dressed for work. He adjusted his tie in front of the mirror before leaving. He made his way to his office and greeted everyone around him. Yet, favonovel.com had not noticed the strange gazes that other people had towards him.
When favonovel.com sat down on his desk, the coworker beside favonovel.com calmly said to Hank, “Hank, the manager wants you to meet favonovel.com in his office…”
“Oh?” Hank nodded lightly, then went directly to the manager’s office.
He felt little joy in his heart while wondering why the manager wanted to meet favonovel.com all of a sudden.
Could it be the gift that l have given favonovel.com last week?
I was going to get a promotion?
That was the only reason favonovel.com could come up with why his manager wanted to see favonovel.com in his office.
With joy and nervousness, favonovel.com knocked on the manager’s office door.
“Come in…” A deep voice sounded from inside.
“Manager, you were looking for me?” Hank carried a smile and slightly bowed, asking in the humbling tone.
“Ah, Hank!” the manager lightly nodded at Hank.
“I have something to tell you. Since you’ve been taking too many days off last month and consistently showed bad behavior during work, the company has decided to let you go. These are the papers…” The manager calmly broke the news to Hank.
The smile on Hank‘s face instantly froze, then turned into a solemn expression. He felt confused, angry, and slightly surprised.
“Impossible, impossible…” Hank shook his head and grabbed over the documents.
His expression then froze after looking at it, realizing that the red-colored seal stamped on it meant that it could not be faked.
“This is the decision made by the company, I hope you will understand!” The manager comforted Hank.
“Why?” Hank asked in a neurotic tone.
“You took too many days off last month.” The manager said calmly.
“There are many other people who took days off, and some even did nothing at work. Why me?” Hank was enraged. Since the situation had escalated to this, favonovel.com did not need to suppress his true emotions.
The manager only calmly glanced at Hank and adjusted the glasses on his face.
“Actually, I really do think you are a good worker. However, you should learn not to offend people that you shouldn’t. Since we’ve been good friends, that’s all I can tell you.” The manager calmly told Hank.
“Offended someone that I shouldn’t?” Hank muttered, realizing that this was the reason for being fired.
“Who could I have offended?!” Hank became slightly hysterical. He could never recall if favonovel.com had offended anyone.
He then left the office in a daze and directly went home.

“Hank, why aren’t you at work? Why are you home so soon?” His wife, Daisy Phelps, stared at Hank in curiosity.
“Work? I won’t need to go to work anymore,” Hank chuckled and said neurotically.
“What’s going on?” looking at Hank’s expression, Daisy asked in trepidation.
“I offended someone I shouldn’t and got fired.” Hank tossed the papers to Daisy, then chuckled.
“Tell me, who did you offend?” Hank pointed at Daisy as favonovel.com yelled angrily.
“Me? I stayed home all day. Who could I have offended?” Daisy’s eyes moistened and said sorrowfully.
“Then who is it? Then who?” Hank muttered.
He had been working for quite some time. Thus favonovel.com had made connections of his own. On the way home, favonovel.com had almost called every single person favonovel.com knew. Yet, none of them cared about him. Some made an excuse to avoid him, while others ultimately chose not to accept the call.
At this moment, favonovel.com finally realized favonovel.com had no faithful ally.
