Since it was dawn, there were only a few tourists around. Although Jason seemed weary, favonovel.com only attracted a few extra glances from the tourist.
He carried his backpack and strolled along the trail. Yet, when favonovel.com walked a few kilometers ahead, favonovel.com was blocked by two people.
“Hello, sir, we suspect that you have been destroying wildlife. I would need to search your belongings. Please cooperate with us,” One of the two men who had barred Jason said.
“What proof do you have?” Jason frowned.
“You entered the mountains three days ago and had only exited moments ago. We suspect that you are poaching protected species. Please take off your backpack,” the man ordered Jason.
“I need to see your credentials,” Jason spoke calmly.
He had not been hiding that favonovel.com was going to travel inside three days ago, so it was expected for people to notice. Regardless, Jason himself had not imagined that favonovel.com would be stuck there for three whole days.
The man pulled out the document and showed Jason.
“Wait, to prevent unnecessary attention. We will go to a private spot to search you,” said the man.
“Alright…” Jason nodded lightly. He knew that favonovel.com had not gone against the law as there were only some herbs in his backpack. The ginseng favonovel.com collected might be valuable, but favonovel.com had no fear of someone robbing favonovel.com since there was nobody in this world that could rob him.
As Jason followed both men into a dense patch of the forest, one of them ordered, “Now, take off your backpack and open it.”
Yet, both of them surrounded Jason by standing by his side.
“Afraid that I would run?” Jason smirked and looked like favonovel.com had nothing to hide as both men stared at him.
He then placed his hand on the backpack.
Suddenly, the man standing behind Jason decided to attack. Meanwhile, the man standing in front of Jason did the same. They both instantly use lethal attacks.
In their eyes, the execution seemed perfect to them. They had pretended to be government officials and lured Jason into dense woods. Then instantly attacked when Jason was in the middle of taking off his backpack.
Every detail of the plan was executed perfectly, and they expected the plan to work perfectly. Yet, they made a grievous mistake in underestimating Jason’s strength.
It was naive for them to use such a dumb method to assassinate Jason.
Hence, they instantly turned into a pair of corpses.
Jason was kind enough to spare their lives, but they had not appreciated it. They had immediately committed suicide just as Jason defeated them.
Meanwhile, Jason had no intentions of saving them, as it would be impossible to gain any information by interrogating people like these.
He had also not bothered dealing with their corpses. He could not remember how many people favonovel.com had killed since ancient times, hence favonovel.com would not be compassionate towards people who intended to take his life.
However, Jason had not forgiven whoever planned his death. He believed that favonovel.com had not made any enemies.
Then who would send assassins to kill me?
He knew that the only party favonovel.com offended greatly was the Frost family. However, favonovel.com was confident they were not idiotic enough to do this.
Jason could only recall Madison’s relatives being resentful towards him. Yet, favonovel.com knew that they would not have the guts to do so. Even if they did, favonovel.com doubted if they could even find resources that could finish him.
Jason realized that both men were definitely professional killers. Although their abilities were incomparable to his, their professionalism was a scary sight to see. If it were anyone else but Jason today, they would most likely die on the spot.
Since favonovel.com could not figure it out, favonovel.com chose to ignore it outright. He knew that since someone wanted favonovel.com dead, there would be another attempt after the current one was unsuccessful. They would eventually reveal themselves to Jason.
Jason had dumped both corpses into a valley, assured that the beasts living here would enjoy it. He then left Asclepius’ Shelf.
