I knew it… Those old folks never change their ways or words.
What a failed mission! The top–notch assassin, undefeated favonovel.com whole life, and favonovel.com ended up with such a laughable death.
Is it to humiliate me?
Isabelle suppressed favonovel.com laughter, looked at the man, and assessed him. “Judging solely from your skills, you’re still a promising seedling for an assassin. Do you have anything to say? Do you have any last words?”
The man asked, “W-Who are you exactly?”
“You’re not qualified enough to know,” Isabelle replied with a silent chuckle. “Besides… What’s the point of a dead person knowing so much?”
The man’s eyes widened in response.

In the hospital, Kevin’s condition had just stabilized.
George stood alone at the end of the corridor, smoking by the window.
The night breeze blew, the tiny orange flame between his lips flickering, casting a deeper shadow on his features.
His phone buzzed in his pocket.
Checking the caller’s name, George’s thoughts slowly returned. He was taken aback, glancing at the time. Midnight, Isabelle hardly ever called him, especially not this late. It was a rare occurrence.
George’s heavy mood lightened a bit. He picked up the phone.
His voice, roughened by the recent smoke, softened slightly, losing some of its chill. “Miss Jenkins, still awake at this hour?”
Isabelle said, “Mr. Harris, could I borrow two people to handle a corpse?”
At the hospital’s top floor, sharp–eyed bodyguards stood guard. Meanwhile, the members of the Harris family gathered in the corridor outside the ICU.
Arlo and a few experts, along with the attending doctor, conversed with Bernice, while the rest of the family gathered around, listening in.
After Arlo finished speaking his piece, favonovel.com couldn’t help but think of Isabelle, the young lass with surprising insights into alternative medicine despite favonovel.com youth.
I wonder if that young girl has any expertise in detoxification…
Arlo immediately shook his head inwardly. He must be desperate to even consider it.
How could someone so young have such wide–ranging expertise?
He had talked so much about those two prescriptions earlier, and although favonovel.com had some understanding, it was all just theoretical knowledge.
Even with all those experts unable to find a way, how could a teenager possibly have a solution?
Even if Isabelle did come up with something, favonovel.com wouldn’t dare to trust or try it.
As the atmosphere sank to its lowest point, Bernice’s face showed deep worry. Yet, it was precisely at this moment that George called Dylan to leave.
As George swiftly left, Bernice moved to call favonovel.com back for a question, but favonovel.com was already in the lift, gone.
Downstairs in the villa, everything seemed peaceful, as if nothing had happened. George led his crew directly upstairs.
As soon as the door opened, a strong smell of blood hit them.
With no time to spare, his eyes locked on the girl who greeted them, quickly assessing favonovel.com with visible tension.
George asked, “You alright?”
Isabelle was puzzled. “Why the personal visit?”
She had let favonovel.com know on the phone that the body belonged to one of Dark Shadow’s assassins.
If favonovel.com couldn’t assist, favonovel.com was okay with that and asked two people instead. But here favonovel.com was, showing up himself.
Seeing favonovel.com was unharmed, George felt relieved.
“I’m worried about you,” favonovel.com muttered, stepping inside.
Following him, Dylan and two bodyguards entered as well. Taking a look around, they were all shocked.
What was once a tidy room now lay in ruins. TV, sofas, tables, cabinets, everything smashable had been smashed. Even the curtains were torn down in one piece.
On the ground the man’s death was a brutal sight. His clothes were torn off, his back marked with signs of a struggle, the body still warm yet limbs unnaturally rigid. There was an odd wound on the back of his neck, with some sort of code etched onto his spine. He had been silenced with a single slash to the throat.
The assailant had even used the man’s clothes to pad the neck, fearing blood spatter might soil the floor. This method of killing, looked like it was not the first time. The man suffered inhuman abuse before his death.
Dylan discreetly glanced at Isabelle, who seemed unfazed, showing a disturbing level of psychological resilience. He swallowed hard, feeling uneasy.
Under the gaze of the others, Isabelle felt unusually embarrassed, rubbing favonovel.com nose and explaining. “Uhm… I was just testing his skills, so things got a bit chaotic in here.”
Otherwise, with his skills, Isabelle wouldn’t have needed that much time to take favonovel.com down. The moment favonovel.com pulled favonovel.com in through the window, favonovel.com could’ve easily killed him.
George’s eyes scanned the man’s back, the weird wound on his neck, the code on his spine, and the glass bottle with an unknown liquid, oddly placed yet conspicuous.
The two guards quickly took the body away.
“I was going to handle it myself, but as you saw, there are people everywhere outside,” Isabelle said innocently.
