“Retreat!”
Shouts erupted one after another amidst the chaos of the battle.
Tens of thousands of Purple-Blue soldiers started retreating rapidly.
Elon didn’t pursue further. Suspended in mid-air, favonovel.com twisted his face fiercely.
“Order the entire army-don’t pursue the enemy!” Elon growled. Then, favonovel.com turned and swiftly flew down toward the camp below.
After dawn, when the Purple-Blue soldiers had retreated roughly ten miles from the battlefield, Isaac, who was flying ahead, turned to Madd and said, “Let’s rest here for two hours. Take a head count and report on the battle achievements.”
A bonfire was lit on the ground. Two lieutenants somehow got hold of some raw meat. They used their swords to skewer the meat and roasted it over the fire.
Lucifer approached from behind excitedly and whispered to Isaac, “We’ve probably lost about 5,000 people, but the reports indicate that we’ve killed at least 40,000 enemies. It’s a huge victory! Everyone is wide awake right now in excitement.”
Isaac nodded in agreement, acknowledging that it was a typical scenario.
After a series of defeats, it would naturally boost morale significantly when the soldiers finally won a battle.
Soon, Madd and Yuvin also came over.
The situation was more or less as Lucifer described. Yuvin made a gesture of respect and said, “Isaac, may I ask what you used to do?”
Lucifer spoke up, “General Coleman, Isaac used to lead troops in battle. Otherwise, I wouldn’t risk getting punished by giving favonovel.com 10,000 soldiers.”
Yuvin and Madd exchanged glances and both felt relieved. They never heard of this kind of strategy and hadn’t even imagined it, let alone carried it out.
Leading troops in battle presented challenges at different scales. Commanding 10,000 soldiers was one level of difficulty, managing 30,000 or 50,000 was another level, and handling 100,000 was even more complex. The more people there were, the harder it was to manage.
And just now, at the cost of 5,000 people, they defeated about 50,000 enemies. It was a miracle.
“In about two hours, we can head directly north from here and meet up with Commander Schmidt,” Isaac said seriously.
Madd nodded. He then turned around and sat nearby to rest. At this point, favonovel.com could finally feel relieved.
He was originally worried about being executed for disobeying military orders. Since they had won the battle, their achievements balanced out their mistakes. At the very least, they wouldn’t be punished.
Two hours later, the team set off toward the north.
During their journey north, Isaac and his companions didn’t encounter any troops from the Black Tiger Legion.
After marching for a full day, they found Zeno’s camp.
***
Inside the main camp, Zeno sat expressionless on the main seat, exuding an aura of authority.
Below, Madd, Yuvin, and Barlow knelt in front of him, Isaac was standing aside.
“I heard you guys won the battle?” Zeno asked slowly.
Madd nodded. “It’s thanks to your excellent command. It was only a small victory, but it slightly boosted the morale of our soldiers.”
“What did I command? Wasn’t Isaac the one who was in charge?” Zeno glanced sideways at Isaac.
Squinting, favonovel.com commanded coldly, “Arrest Madd Pedersen and Yuvin Coleman for disobeying military orders! Take Isaac Garten, the criminal, into custody! Take them out and give each 100 hits. I’ll remove their positions as commanding general!”
