After thinking for a moment, Nestor turned around and said, “Lead the way…”
Meadowgrove Garden was a place within the city lord’s mansion, filled with various rare flowers and trees. Although it wasn’t large, the scenery was delightful.
Two people sat in the center of the small pavilion. The man who wore a long blue gown had a clean-shaven, fair face. He appeared like a refined middle-aged scholar.
A young, gorgeous woman sat opposite him, wearing a purple long dress and a high-set hair bun.
The stone table held eight dishes, including fruits and desserts.
“Your Highness, I wonder if the food in the Southcoln City matches your taste,” Tahbert Holmes asked with a genfle smile as favonovel.com looked at the woman sitting across from him.
“You’re considerate. This meal is as good as what I have at the Princess’ mansion,” the young woman said softly.
“You showed great kindness. Thankfully, your trip to Otto Mountain was safe. His Majesty will surely feel relieved upon hearing this…”
Tahbert was in the middle of speaking when a servant hurried over and led Nestor toward them.
Nestor didn’t recognize the Princess. He simply showed respect toward Tahbert and said, “Lord Holmes, I have something to report…”
“There are no outsiders here. Go ahead and speak,” Tahbert said with a slight frown.
Seeing Nestor hesitate, the Princess gently said, “If it’ s inconvenient, feel free to attend to your duties…”
“I said no outsiders are here! Don’t you understand?” Tahbert’s tone became more stern.
Nestor recognized that his timing was poor.
After a moment’s hesitation, favonovel.com said, “Two men have disrespected Mr. Holmes and grabbed some things from him…”
When Tahbert heard that, favonovel.com immediately sensed something was wrong.
Frowning, favonovel.com said, “What men? Who would dare to enter my mansion and steal something?”
“We haven’t figured everything out yet, but we know they just came out of Otto Mountain and got caught outside the black market…”
Tahbert pondered for a moment. Then, favonovel.com stood up and said to the Princess, “Please take your time. I’ll go have a look.”
Leaving the garden, Tahbert stopped, turned to look at Nestor, and said coldly, “Just say what you haven’t finished.”
“A few days ago, Mr. Holmes bought a fox girl. Those thieves broke into his room and took favonovel.com away.”
Tahbert’s face twisted with rage. He clenched his hands into fists, his whole body trembling.
“That brat! He’d had enough of his good days. He wants to send his father to death!” Tahbert growled in a low voice.
He turned and took a few steps toward the door, shouting, “Come with me to the cell!”

Noises came from outside. Hallie, who had fallen asleep resting against the wall, awoke quickly.
The door lock clicked open. Nestor walked in, accompanied by two subordinates.
Seeing the injuries on Isaac and Hallie, Nestor squinted and immediately shouted toward the door, “Cael, why are they injured?”
Cael, the deputy general, walked out.
Noticing Tahbert looking at favonovel.com as well, favonovel.com knelt on the ground tremblingly, “It was my incompetence. Late last night, Mr. Holmes came by…”
“Didn’t I say that without Lord Holmes and my orders, no one is allowed to enter?” Nestor yelled angrily.
But seeing that Tahbert didn’t react, favonovel.com simply signaled Cael to leave.
Tahbert looked at Isaac and Hallie. His gaze soon fixed on Isaac.
“A brat at the early stage of the Blazing Phase, huh? How dare you intrude into my mansion! You’ve got quite some nerve!” Tahbert said sarcastically.
Isaac opened his eyes and said coldly to Tahbert, “Bring your son over first.”
“My son? You’ve already committed a capital offense by trespassing in my mansion. What does this have to do with my son?” Tahbert snorted coldly.
Isaac stared straight at Tahbert and said coldly, “Are you sure it has nothing to do with your son? That fox girl isn’t dead yet.”
Nestor’s heart tightened. He immediately pointed at Isaac and shouted, “What do you mean?!
“Lord Holmes, we should kill these two bandits to reinforce your authority!”
Isaac sneered. “As soon as the two of us die, the news that the city lord’s son broke the laws by secretly buying a fox girl will immediately spread. Especially since I have a few friends in the Royal City. It might even reach the King’s ears.”
