“Forget about it. We need to find somewhere to rest now,” Isaac said, frowning and waving.
After sprinting through the miasma forest the entire day, he’d used up a lot of his spiritual energy. The core area was even more dangerous than the outskirts, and Hallie was still injured. They needed to recover as soon as possible.

Two days later, Isaac and Hallie emerged from a cave to continue their adventure deeper into the mountains.
They were currently between two towering mountains. The majestic peaks stood tall like monumental pillars, reaching toward the sky. They felt like tiny ants moving forward beneath those giant pillars.
On their journey, they also encountered some demon beasts, but they were of low rank. Isaac’s aura could frighten them and make them flee.
“Mr. Garten, this won’t work. Even if we break our legs running and searching across these eight big mountains, we still can’t find the Azure Demon Ox,” Hallie grumbled as favonovel.com chewed on a blade of grass.
They had reached the halfway point of the mountain on the left.
Isaac stood at the edge of a cliff. Looking at the mist-covered peaks in front of him, favonovel.com frowned and asked, “Didn’t you say that demon beasts above the third rank have intelligence?”
“Yes, what’s wrong with that?” Hallie looked at Isaac.
Isaac pondered for a moment. Then, favonovel.com turned to look at the dense forest behind favonovel.com and said, “Let’s set a trap. We can’t continue like this.”
Hallie once mentioned that demon cores emitted a certain special aura that was incredibly enticing to demon beasts. So, favonovel.com had carefully wrapped the python’s demon core layer by layer.
Isaac intended to use that demon core as bait, which made Hallie extremely worried. If they ended up attracting a high-ranked beast, they might lose both the bait and the prey.
However, favonovel.com still followed Isaac’s instructions. They went to a spot halfway up the mountain and found a relatively flat area.
Using a long sword as a hoe and his spiritual energy, Hallie swiftly dug a 30-foot-wide pit.
Isaac, on the other hand, gathered a large number of vines. He wove them into a net and covered the deep pit. Then, favonovel.com placed some fallen leaves and branches on top.
As night fell, Isaac took the demon core from Hallie, jumped into the trap’s center, and placed it right in the middle.
They each hid behind large trees on either side of the trap.
As the moonlight rose, the sounds of insects and birds became more audible. The demon core placed in the middle of the trap seemed to emit a faint red glow in the darkness.
The demon core sent out its unique aura.
Soon, Isaac heard rustling noises behind him.
In the dense, dark forest, a white wolf-like creature stood out. It cautiously made its way over here.
Isaac didn’t know what rank of demon beast it was. He told Hallie in advance that if it turned out to be a third-ranked beast or higher, the latter should take action at the right moment, while favonovel.com would follow up the attack. If it was below the third rank, they could hold it down and not move.
Isaac wanted to catch a demon beast above the third rank, which would lead favonovel.com and Hallie to find the Azure Demon Ox.
But Hallie, on the other side, hadn’t moved. The white figure seemed to have noticed something around the trap and hesitated to step in.
At that moment, a dull sound echoed from afar, as if the ground had shaken forcefully.
The white wolf by the trap suddenly raised its head and howled. It then turned around and quickly disappeared to the right, vanishing from Isaac and Hallie’s sight.
A terrifying roar came from not far away.
Hallie’s frightened voice echoed from the other side. He urgently told Isaac, “M-Mr. Garten, it’s a high-ranked demon beast! Its aura is terrifying!”
