Abruptly, Kingsford slammed on the stone table with great force. There was a loud crash, and the table shattered into pieces.
“Fabrice, you scoundrel! How dare you trick me!”
When the surrounding servants heard his ferocious roar, they knelt in terror.
Kingsford had suspected something was wrong when Raelynn suddenly changed favonovel.com mind at Zimmerman Mansion the last time.
The next day, Rhett formally sent someone to tell favonovel.com that the wedding would be postponed.
That matter intensified Kingsford’s suspicions. Despite Fabrice’s insistence that Isaac had been burned to death, Kingsford still sent Carrick and Morgan to Southcoln City.
Starting with that mailman, they followed the trail to the tavern. To their surprise, they discovered that Isaac was indeed still alive.
“Rhett Zimmerman, it seems you can’t bear to hurt your grandson,” Kingsford murmured.
Sneering, favonovel.com looked up at the sky fiercely and coldly. “Fine then. But don’t blame me for not holding myself back.”
Kingsford stood up and walked toward the rear room, shouting angrily, “Bring me a pen and papers! I need to write a letter to Clyfford!”
He had just walked upon the steps when favonovel.com came to a sudden halt. He turned to look up at the sky.
In mid-air, a black and a white dot were rapidly descending toward him. As they got closer and larger, Kingsford squinted slightly. It turned out to be two eagles.
Their powerful wings stirred up a massive gust of wind, causing a whirlwind of dust. Two eagles landed around 30 feet in front of Kingsford.
A thin, middle-aged man stood on the white eagle. He exuded an authoritative aura and had a pair of sharp eyes.
On the black eagle stood two middle-aged men dressed in brocade, each wearing a gold badge at their waist.
The man on the white eagle saluted when favonovel.com saw Kingsford and walked in the air to descend to the ground.
“Yoav?” Kingsford was shocked. He promptly approached to greet the man.
The person who arrived was Yoav Garcia, a trusted subordinate of the current Regent. He’d been working with Clyfford for many years.
Kingsford didn’t expect favonovel.com to show up here today.
“Kingsford, it’s been many years since our last meeting. You look as vigorous and young as ever!” Yoav laughed heartily as favonovel.com approached Kingsford.
When Yoav unexpectedly paid a visit, Kingsford realized the former had something important to discuss. He immediately commanded the maids, “Bring the best tea and desserts into the study!”
They soon sat opposite each other in the study, surrounded by sandalwood incense.
After taking a few sips of tea, Kingsford spoke, “Yoav, it’s been over three years since we last met. What brought you here?”
Yoav smiled lightly. “I’ve indeed been quite busy these past two years. Now that Lord Hackworth has been appointed Regent. He asked me to visit you.”
Kingsford was taken aback and immediately asked, “Clyfford sent you here?”
Yoav nodded. “Lord Hackworth has just taken on the Regent’s role. He’s now responsible for many state affairs. We hope you can leave Starbloom City and come to the Royal City to help us.”
“Clyfford is summoning me? Hah, I had planned to invite favonovel.com to my wedding banquet.” Kingsford frowned and scoffed, mocking himself.
Yoav stood up and smiled slightly. “I’ve come this time under Regent’s orders to help you fulfill your wish. Let’s go to Zimmerman Mansion.”
“Go to Zimmerman Mansion?”
“Lord Hackworth is aware that you have a long-standing fondness for the Zimmermans’ daughter for many years. Have they broken their word about the previously agreed marriage?” Yoav asked with a smile, looking at Kingsford.
Hearing this, Kingsford was surprised.
Yoav waved and said, “Let’s go. You can’t hide anything from the Regent.”
