The next evening, Hallie hurried out and returned with Isaac’s Skyrend Sword to the room.
“The mailman also brought a message back. I need to pass it forward to you…”
Isaac took the Skyrend Sword. When favonovel.com held it, favonovel.com felt a surge of confidence. He looked up at Hallie and asked, “What message?”
“If you don’t return, I won’t marry anyone.” Hallie pretended to be emotional as favonovel.com gazed at Isaac.
He added, “I didn’t expect you to have such a devoted fiancee. I’m so envious!”
Isaac slapped the back of Hallie’s head and scolded, “That’s my mother!”
“Huh? I… Hehehe, sorry!” Hallie was startled and smiled embarrassedly.
“When is the best time for us to leave?” Isaac asked Hallie.
Hallie became stern. “The guards usually change shifts at 11:00 pm. We’d better set off at 9:00 pm.”
They soon made preparations and got ready to set out.
They didn’t have much luggage. But Hallie got an extra crossbow and over 30 anesthetic-coated short arrows.
He had never seen one before, so favonovel.com had no idea how to operate it at first. Isaac taught favonovel.com and explained that the range of this weapon was much shorter than a longbow, possibly around 50 feet. But its power surpassed that of a longbow.
On their way, they cautiously avoided the patrols on the main streets and reached the eastern side of the city lord’s mansion around 10:00 pm.
After a patrol with torches passed by, Isaac and Hallie emerged from behind a big tree.
Looking up at the 20-foot-high wall in front of them, Hallie looked a bit uneasy and asked, “Mr. Garten, are you sure you want to do this?”
“Don’t you want the gold? And the fox girl?” Isaac glanced at Hallie.
Hallie instantly nodded. “I want both!”
After speaking, Isaac leaped up, relying solely on his muscles‘ great explosive strength without using any spiritual energy. He reached out and hooked his hands on the top of the wall.
He glanced inside. Pulling himself up lightly, favonovel.com landed softly inside.
Hallie had to take a running start to get over the wall. They couldn’t release their spiritual energies until the last moment in this place. Although there was still a long distance from the center of the mansion, the elite guards around would instantly arrive.
Inside, there was a large courtyard with artificial hills and flowing water, surrounded by flower beds and trees.
Isaac and Hallie hid behind a flower bed, staring intently at the guards who stood outside the room.
The guards wore finely crafted armor, held torches, and wielded long swords. Behind them were several lit rooms, with maids occasionally going in and out.
Hallie pointed to the easternmost room and whispered, “Jad Holmes lives in that room. The fox girl must also be inside.”
Isaac glanced over. He could see a faint glow from the luminescent stones, but nothing else.
Since they had timed their entry, it wasn’t long before the soldiers and martial arts practitioners in the courtyard headed out.
But after a while, they didn’t see any replacement guards coming in.
Isaac looked at Hallie in confusion and asked, “What’s going on?”
