The inn’s attendant responded from outside, “It’s 100 taels of silver per ticket.”
Hallie appeared interested. He walked over to Isaac, rubbed his hands, and grinned. “Since you still have some private money, how about…”
“I don’t have any!” Isaac frowned and declined.
His mother had secretly hidden a few banknotes under his pillow the day before favonovel.com was caught. The total was 500 taels of silver.
He had spent 200 taels at the herb store, leaving only three notes.
Those auction tickets cost 100 taels each. What was the point with only one hundred taels remaining?
“We don’t want them!” Isaac shouted.
The footsteps soon faded away.
Hallie slumped back into his chair with a sorrowful expression and muttered, “They say that fox girl is a real beauty, like a fairy. Even if I can’t have her, only seeing favonovel.com would be nice…”
“We’re going to Otto Mountain soon. Who knows if we’ll come back alive? Alas, I’m destined to never touch a woman in this life. Even in death, I’ll be a virgin ghost!”
Isaac looked up at Hallie, pulled two banknotes from his sleeve, and tossed them on the table. “Shut up. Stop bothering me…”
Seeing the banknotes on the table, Hallie quickly snatched them up and dashed out the door, shouting, “Wait a minute, I want two tickets!”
In no time, favonovel.com returned happily with two tickets and walked over to Isaac with deep gratitude.
“Alright now. It’d be worth it even if I’d die,” Hallie remarked, smiling at Isaac.
Isaac stirred the liquid in a bowl with a spoon and asked Hallie, ”Do you know archery?”
“Yes, I do. Why are you asking that?” Hallie nodded and added, “Mr. Garten, the auction will start in an hour. Let’s get going.”
While placing the bowl under the bed, Isaac turned and said, “Get some arrowheads tomorrow morning. I’ll make you a weapon.”
They then closed the door and left the tavern.

Southcoln City was vast. Even at their quick pace, it took them over half an hour to reach the eastern side of the city.
Near the city’s outskirts, two young men in long robes stood in front of an alley.
Hallie glanced at the address on the tickets and quickly approached them.
After checking the tickets, one of the young men led Hallie and Isaac into the alley.
“Here is the black market. Normally, nobody oversees it. I asked around today. They said the city lord’s power is behind this,” Hallie whispered to Isaac.
Isaac didn’t respond. Such matters were self- explanatory, much like the concept of “protection” found in the lower realm.
There was always something fishy going on when it came to illegal activities that existed in reality. The law enforcement authorities, the state governments in the Upper Martial Realm, the city lords, or the military department would all turn a blind eye.
The purpose, of course, was to gain some benefits from it.
After several twists and turns in the alley and a long walk, they finally arrived in front of an old wooden house.
“Once inside, turn right and go down the stone steps. Someone will guide you,” said the young man before going away.
