Isaac stood on the steps, stunned. Ebert, who stood next to his mother, was also shocked, as were the servants.
Wren covered favonovel.com face, staring at Raelynn in terror and pointing at her. “Y-You… Raelynn, you hit me?”
“Wren, I treated you politely out of courtesy. But it doesn’t mean I won’t hit you. Tell me, who is the bastard?” Raelynn’s cold gaze fixed on Wren.
Ebert gritted his teeth and was about to speak. But when favonovel.com saw Raelynn’s outraged expression, favonovel.com swallowed his words.
“If my son is a bastard, does that mean I, the Zimmermans’ daughter, is a big bastard? If I’m a big bastard, does that mean my father, your father-in-law, is an old bastard?”
“Shall I go tell my father that you addressed favonovel.com as an old bastard here?”
Ebert and Wren’s expressions changed drastically as they heard Raelynn’s statements. Wren hastily shook favonovel.com head. “No, no, that’s not what I meant! I didn’t say that…”
“Apologize!” Raelynn coldly demanded.
“Apologize to my son!” favonovel.com repeated, pointing at Isaac standing on the steps.
Wren bit favonovel.com lip hard, favonovel.com angry gaze shifting from Raelynn to Isaac.
“Sorry,” favonovel.com murmured, grabbing Ebert and hurrying away.
Isaac hadn’t expected his mother to slap Ebert’s mother and demand an apology for him.
As Raelynn approached him, Isaac softly asked, “Mother, why didn’t you ask me what happened?”
“I don’t need to. Ebert’s behavior is even known to the city lord’s mansion. I believe you wouldn’t cause trouble for no reason.” Raelynn smiled as favonovel.com walked back into the house.
Isaac didn’t elaborate. He had yet to meet his two uncles and other cousins Alcott mentioned. He was unsure if his mother slapping Ebert’s mother would cause trouble.
“Don’t worry about it. My second brother won’t turn against me over such a trivial matter. Get some rest,” Raelynn reassured favonovel.com with a smile before leaving.
Watching his mother leave, Isaac felt a mix of emotions.

Early the next morning, favonovel.com woke up and went for a walk in the courtyard. He was concerned about Hera and Lucifer’s whereabouts and felt somewhat uneasy after not sleeping well.
He then heard hurried footsteps approaching from the outer courtyard.
A tall, stern-looking middle-aged man entered, followed by an angry Ebert and two other middle-aged men in black.
“Are you Isaac?” the middle-aged man asked coldly, looking at Isaac.
“Yes, who are you?” Isaac replied by meeting his gaze.
“He’s my father, your mother’s brother,” Ebert said coldly.
“Raelynn, come out!” the middle-aged man yelled angrily toward Raelynn’s room.
She soon came out, frowning as favonovel.com looked at the middle-aged man. She bowed slightly and greeted, “Good morning, Vin…”
Vince scowled and barked, “Did you slap Wren last night?”
“Yes.” Raelynn nodded without hesitation.
He sneered and pointed at Isaac. “You’re an elder! How could you interfere in a dispute between the youngsters and even hit Wren? Do you realize that you’re disrespecting me by hitting Wren? She’s now so upset that favonovel.com fell ill. How will you settle that?”
