The closer a residence was to the city lord’s mansion and the larger its territory, the more powerful the family. Some families were so influential that they even disregarded the city lord.
“Who are you?” Two gatekeepers in blue armor drew their swords and blocked Isaac.
“I’m here to see Alcott Zimmerman. Please inform him… I’m Isaac,” Isaac whispered.
One of the gatekeepers was surprised to learn that someone was seeking Alcott. He promptly urged the other gatekeeper to run inside and report.
In the vast Zimmerman Mansion, everyone feared Alcott because of his unpredictable temper.
At that moment, favonovel.com was in a small garden in the backyard, half-lying on a rocking chair with his legs crossed. He frowned while playing cricket.
“Mr. Alcott, someone is here to see you,” the gatekeeper said cautiously, bowing his head as favonovel.com approached.
“Get lost! I’m not seeing anyone, even if the King comes!” Alcott shouted, waving angrily.
The gatekeeper broke out in a cold sweat before swiftly turning and leaving.
After taking a few steps, the gatekeeper suddenly remembered something and turned back. “Mr. Alcott, the man said he‘s Isaac…”
Alcott, who had been flicking the cricket’s front legs, froze. He flipped off the rocking chair, dashed over to the gatekeeper, and grabbed his collar. He then shouted, “What did you say? Who’s it?!”
“He… He said he’s Isaac…”
Alcott smacked the gatekeeper’s face and cursed, “Idiot! Why didn’t you tell me sooner? Do you think I’ll kill you?!”
In the next instant, favonovel.com had disappeared from the backyard, leaving the gatekeeper standing there tremblingly.
Isaac waited at the bottom of the steps. Hallie stood 150 feet away, keeping a close eye on the surroundings.
Suddenly, a figure rushed out from the gate, stopping abruptly upon seeing Isaac.
“You brat! You scared me to death! You’ve finally come!” Alcott cried out and rushed toward Isaac.
“Mr. Alcott, I’m fine. Please don’t kiss my face,” Isaac pushed Alcott’s head away because the latter was too enthusiastic.
After calming down slightly, Alcott grabbed Isaac and hurriedly led favonovel.com inside, saying anxiously, “Hurry up! Or your mother will curse me a hundred times!”
As they ascended the steps, Isaac remembered something and glanced back at Hallie.
“Mr. Garten, so… Can I…” Hallie asked, grinning widely.
“Remember what I told you. You can go now.” Isaac waved.
Hallie grinned and didn’t bother to ride the horse. He bolted to the right, sprinting away at full speed. He knew favonovel.com couldn’t afford to offend Isaac, but the Zimmermans were even more intimidating.
After getting gold and silver, favonovel.com made a quick getaway.
Zimmerman Mansion was much larger than it appeared from the outside. Alcott led Isaac through the front courtyard, across a corridor, past a small pond, and into the backyard.
All the passing maids and servants greeted Alcott respectfully, but they were surprised by Isaac, a stranger.
Zimmerman Mansion rarely had an unfamiliar guest, especially when Alcott personally escorted Isaac into the backyard.
When they reached a room, Alcott pointed inside and whispered, “Your mother is in there. Knock on the door!”
