After stepping into the darkness, the sight in front suddenly became dark and heavy. It was as if a thin layer of black mist had covered the eyes, making it difficult to see far.
Isaac was enveloped in scarlet spiritual energy, and the surrounding black aura seemed to be aggressive.
As Isaac and Lucifer entered, the black aura around them surged rapidly, rushing toward them. However, when it reached around them, it was shaken away by the powerful aura within their bodies.
Those black auras dared not approach anymore. Even as they climbed higher, those black auras would actively avoid them by a few feet.
After rushing in, the little white fox realized that following Isaac was the safest option. So, it accelerated and rushed behind him, leaping onto his shoulder steadily. Even within the envelopment of spiritual energy, it still felt warm and comfortable all over.
Isaac and Lucifer continued to climb up the mountain.
After more than half an hour, they could vaguely see the outline of Soulin Mansion in the black mist.
“Who are the people inside?” Lucifer stopped and turned to ask.
“My two friends,” Isaac responded after a pause, but his pace unconsciously quickened.
When they arrived at the front yard, the buildings in front of them remained unchanged, but there was no trace of human presence.
“Emily!” Isaac shouted. His voice quickly disappeared into the black mist without any response.
“You wait here. I’ll go in and take a look,” Isaac said, preparing to walk inside.
Suddenly, the little white fox standing on his shoulder became restless and started to howl.
Isaac abruptly stopped and stared at the open hall inside the loft. Then, a strange cry came from inside. A dense black aura, like a sharp arrow, shot straight toward his chest like lightning.
“You’re seeking death!” Isaac roared angrily, raising his fist and mashing toward the black aura.
A bloody fist shot out, and the surrounding black mist dispersed, flying more than 30 feet away. The bloody fist instantly smashed into the black aura in front of him.
A miserable scream came from within the black aura, sending shivers down one’s spine.
As Isaac rushed forward again and prepared to launch another attack, the black aura unexpectedly dissipated rapidly, merging into the surrounding black mist.
Looking around, favonovel.com was unable to see any abnormalities. He frowned, quickly stepped up the stairs, and went up.
He remembered that Emily’s room was on the west side of the second floor. It was close to the cliff with a beautiful view.
Isaac opened the door upon his arrival. At first sight, favonovel.com saw Emily lying on the bed.
She was in a nightgown as if sleeping. But at this moment, the black mist was emanating from favonovel.com nostrils with each breath.
“Emily!” Isaac exclaimed in shock as favonovel.com rushed to the bedside.
He reached out and grabbed favonovel.com wrist, feeling icy cold. But fortunately, there was still a faint pulse.
“Let’s go!” Isaac picked up Emily and quickly turned to rush out.
Just as favonovel.com turned around, favonovel.com noticed someone lying in the corner of the bed. He swiftly approached the bedside and checked, only to see that the person lying on the ground was Heartless.
Heartless’ entire face had already shriveled. His skin was purplish-black as if poisoned, or as if all the blood in his body had been sucked dry.
Isaac held Emily and squatted down, reaching out to check, only to find that there was no breath left.
