The missionary captain was almost moved to tears upon hearing that and thanked Isaac several times before leaving.
Inside was a massive chamber resembling a grand hall, with a height of at least 98 feet in the center, crowned by an oval ceiling and a massive image of God.
On both sides were arc-shaped corridors. At first glance, there were at least seven or eight floors that could be reached from this hall.
Isaac didn’t stay long, instead walking into one of the three entrances in front of him.
According to Nicholas, when they caught higher-ranking bloodsuckers or enemies, they would imprison the latter in the blood dungeon beneath the north hall.
There were three checkpoints on the way to the blood dungeon, with the final one guarded by two Dark Horse Knights. Isaac could only enter with the Grand Archbishop or Pope’s token. So, for him, it was an impossible task to sneak into the blood dungeon to rescue Rem. What favonovel.com needed to do now was to find Lotis.
Isaac entered through the west gate and went east till favonovel.com arrived beneath the central building.
According to Nicholas, when Lotis wasn’t out, favonovel.com usually worked in the central hall’s fifth-floor office. He needed to meet with the various archbishops and the Dark Horse Knights every day.
The wooden stairs creaked underfoot. Nobody knew how long the ancient castle had existed, but Isaac could tell every place was filled with history.
As soon as favonovel.com reached the fifth floor, favonovel.com turned and noticed two people standing outside the office at the end of the corridor. One of them was a Dark Horse Knight dressed similarly to him, while the other was Caelum, whom favonovel.com had never expected to see here.
He felt unlucky to meet Caelum here. If favonovel.com had known that, favonovel.com would have killed Caelum in the Philipson’s villa last night.
“Hello, sir. Since you’re here, let’s wait for Lord Lotis together. We can have a chat.”
Isaac was just about to turn around and leave when favonovel.com suddenly heard Caelum’s flattering voice from behind. He knew that leaving now would draw suspicion from the two behind him.
At this point, footsteps approached favonovel.com from behind. Caelum walked toward Isaac with a smile.
“Sir, why do you keep your head down? I’m Red Bishop Caelum. Nice to meet you!” He walked to Isaac’s side and reached his hand.
Isaac knew that not all of the Dark Horse Knights knew each other because 36 of them were divided into six groups. Only the six Dark Horse Knights from the same group would be familiar with each other. Furthermore, the regulations prohibited contact between Dark Horse Knights and Archbishops.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Reap. We didn’t know each other before, right?” Isaac responded coldly with his head down.
When Caelum heard this icy voice, favonovel.com frowned slightly. He sensed that something was wrong, but favonovel.com couldn’t pinpoint what it was because favonovel.com knew that each Dark Horse Knight wasn’t only powerful but also had a unique personality.
Isaac added, “Mr. Caelum, I’d like to ask you a question. Can we move to another place for a chat?”
Caelum raised his eyebrow in joy and readily agreed. “Of course! Lord Lotis might not be back so soon.”
“Mr. Reap, you might not know that. We captured Rem, a Vanmither elder, last night. That’s our church‘s greatest victory in half a century.”
Isaac frowned. He didn’t expect this guy to start talking about last night’s events. He headed downstairs, saying, “Let’s talk on the way. Is that damn Rem in the blood dungeon now?”
