Now, Requiemous Temple had gathered the strongest experts in Rippan in both the Ninjahood and medium arts. Together with distinguished munks from the temple and individuals like Isaac, the gathering numbered over a hundred.
Theron informed everyone that the Arcane Spring was located beneath the foundation of the main building.
The Arcane Spring would remain safe and sound as long as the main building stood. A critical window of three days was all they needed.
After the purple moon waned, those evil demons and monsters would recede like the tide. Rippan would secure its peace for another 160 years!
According to Theron’s plan, Isaac and Hera were to guard the east side. Emily, Willie, and Heartless were stationed in the south. Theron himself took the west, and the north was guarded by 20 Violet Ninjas and five grand mediums.
The seated students of Theron had all reached the strength of grand mediums. However, they had all previously been traveling around Rippan, with Theron’s mandate being to keep a low profile.
Duncan and a few confidants were also assigned to Isaac’s side. The remaining mediums and Violet Ninjas were randomly distributed between Theron and Emily.
As the purple moon rose, Isaac, Hera, and Duncan stood on the third-floor balcony, looking up at the sky. They couldn’t see the black smokescreen overhead but felt the chill intensify.
The cold seemed to seep into their bones as if they had suddenly entered a cold winter night, prompting Duncan’s men to seek warmth by rubbing their hands and stamping their feet.
When the hands of the watch pointed to midnight, the purple moon hanging in the sky seemed to shine unusually bright.
The woods surrounding the temple suddenly came alive with rustling noises. It sounded like swift footsteps across dry leaves, growing increasingly distinct.
Standing on the second floor of a building on the west side, Theron stared intently ahead. He was the closest to the woods, separated only by two walls, and the streetlights beyond the wall clearly illuminated the edge of the forest.
Suddenly, several dark figures sprang out from the woods in a flash and disappeared behind the wall in the blink of an eye.
“What was that?” a Violet Ninja behind Theron exclaimed in surprise.
The figures moved with swiftness. The figures’ speed seemed faster than their speed when using the Escapeus.
A few seconds later, a dark figure suddenly appeared on the second wall to the west.
It looked like a person, but its limbs were all clinging to the wall, and its body was enveloped in a thick black smokescreen.
When it lifted its head to look toward the temple, the two glowing red eyes under the black smokescreen appeared exceptionally terrifying.
Another figure appeared on the wall. Similar to the first, as if enveloped in black flames, its crimson eyes peering forward.
Soon, more and more of these strange beings appeared on the west side wall. They resembled people who had undergone some transformation but were also shrouded in black smokescreen.
More and more of these beings emerged from the west side to the east and the south. They were densely packed and resembled black cats crawling on the walls.
Theron’s brow furrowed as favonovel.com shouted, “They’re coming! The Grinnvhiskers are coming!”
Suddenly, a sharp cry reminiscent of an owl echoed from deep within the woods. These Grimwhiskers suddenly sprang off the wall and charged toward Requiemous Temple from all directions.
