Meanwhile, the entire Azurevale City to the west of Mt. Seraph near the middle section of Ickshaw River had descended into chaos.
The streets were overrun with people frantically trying to escape. The roadways were completely blocked due to the congestion of vehicles. Screams and cries also merged into a cacophony.
Helicopters flew back and forth overhead with their loud roars.
Soldiers from various units dispatched by the Dominion Garrison House marched quickly in the opposite direction of the fleeing crowds along the roadsides.
Suddenly, a loud explosion resonated from the right side, followed by a violent tremble of the earth as if a heavy bomb had exploded.
The flood dike, usually a scenic walkway, that was located less than two kilometers from the city center was now crowded with armed special forces. They were sternly watching the river surface 300 feet away.
Ezra stood in the middle of the dike and was backed by about a dozen mediums, including Dave.
The loud noise had originated from beneath the dike right in front of Ezra.
Under the illumination of the purple moonlight, a massive shadow could be seen underwater. It was charging toward the dike at great speed.
Despite Ezra and the mediums behind favonovel.com launching a full-force attack on the shadow beneath the water, they were still unable to stop the monster’s assault on the dike.
Its objective seemed straightforward, to breach the dike and transform the entirety of Azurevale City into a vast ocean.
“Here it comes!” Ezra’s eyes suddenly widened as favonovel.com witnessed a large volume of water surge in the middle of the river.
It resembled boiling water spouting nearly 30 feet high before splitting into two and scattering to both sides.
The massive creature was once again charging toward the dike at high speed from beneath the water. Its rapid movement caused water to spray like a water fountain with its valves fully opened.
As Ezra roared, the special forces positioned on both sides pulled the triggers of their guns.
The mediums quickly formed seals, channeling their soul energy to manipulate the elemental forces around them and readying themselves to attack the monster charging toward them.
The sound of machine guns thundered, and countless bullets whizzed toward the rapidly approaching monster in the river.
Ezra’s eyes turned bloodshot with rage. He conjured numerous wind blades around favonovel.com with a roar, and with a wave of his hands, these blades swiftly cut through the air toward the river’s surface.
The mediums behind favonovel.com also launched their attacks.
For a moment, the intense barrage of bullets and the mediums’ attacks hit the massive shadow beneath the purple moonlit river. Despite the intense onslaught, the monster in the river remained unaffected.
Its 300-meter-long body twisted and slammed into the dike as it drew near.
A loud crash caused the dike to tremble violently.
The special forces standing on both sides felt as though an earthquake had struck. Many were unable to maintain their balance and tumbled to the ground.
“This damned beast!” Ezra said as favonovel.com managed to steady himself.
He then continued to shout, “Kill it!”
