The Stoner family was more aligned with the lifestyle of Eastscape’s people. Besides, as Altair had said, the Stoner family appeared to be a village where everyone bore the Stoner surname.
Isaac had visited the Ashleighs’, the Nortons’, and the Jensens’ but favonovel.com had never been to the Stoners’ residence.
“Isaac, are you tired? Do you want me to drive for a while?”
It was already 4:00 am, the road was winding, and outside the car window was pitch black. It felt like they were driving through a void.
In Eastscape, the process of urbanization lagged far behind the eastern regions. Due to its vast size, the distance between cities could span hundreds of miles.
The address given by Altair placed the Stoner family’s residence at the northwestern edge of Eastscape, near the snowy base of Mt. Haverest.
According to the GPS, they would only reach their destination during midday after sunrise.
“No need,” Isaac replied. He didn’t question Hera’s driving skills but mull over the potential situations they might encounter at the Stoner family’s residence instead.
After saying this, favonovel.com picked up his phone and dialed Lupinus’s number.
The car was traversing the plateau by midday, where the blue sky and white clouds seemed almost within reach.
From inside the car, they could see the majestic snow-capped mountains in the distance, and they occasionally passed a Jeep driven by tourists on their own journeys.
Turning right onto a rudimentary road, the car journeyed for a while before the concrete gave way to a bumpy, dusty path.
After about half an hour, at the foot of a snow-capped mountain, Isaac looked up to see a cluster of buildings ahead to the right.
As the car approached the village entrance, it was stopped by two young men dressed in Eastscape attire.
“This isn’t a tourist spot. You should leave,” they said while waving their hands, signaling Isaac and Hera to move on, mistaking them for a tourist couple.
Isaac rolled down the window and said, “I know this is the Stoner family’s residence. I’m here to deliver something to Lady Mizar. Could you please inform her?”
“What are you delivering?” one of the young men asked warily.
“Awakening Pills,” Isaac responded directly.
One stayed to watch while the other hurried inside to relay the message.
Shortly after, the man who had gone to inform returned, gesturing for the car to proceed into the village.
As the car drove in, the road turned into a tarred surface, and the houses on either side were much better than those in the villages they had passed through.
They were neat two-story flat-roofed buildings, and many men and women dressed similarly to Mizar were seen walking around, casting curious glances at the unfamiliar car.
Led by the man who had let them in, the car stopped in front of a five-story mansion. Several men in blue and white collared robes approached swiftly, smiling broadly as they stood before the vehicle.
After Isaac and Hera got out, they looked toward the group.
The leader was a big, bearded man with a tough build, his body subtly radiating spiritual energy waves.
Despite his fierce appearance, favonovel.com was smiling the most joyously. The men behind favonovel.com were also bulky, but Isaac did not recognize any of them.
The elders who had accompanied Mizar to the Carmine Temple were nowhere to be found.
“You must be Mr. Garten, right? Lady Mizar has spoken of you. Please, come inside,” the bearded man said enthusiastically, gesturing for them to enter.
Isaac smiled and walked forward, noticing that the bearded man and his followers were eyeing the briefcase in Hera’s hands.
The house appeared modern from the outside, but upon entering, it was filled with the rich style of the Eastscape tribe, from the totem carpets underfoot to the ancient patterns carved on the beams.
The bearded man took his place at the head of the room, and with a wave of his hand, seven or eight young women wearing veils entered, gracefully carrying trays of fruits and snacks.
“I still owe Lady Mizar some things, and I’ve come especially to deliver them. May I know where Lady Mizar is?” Isaac asked the bearded man with a smile.
