In the surgery room, Maxwell lay weakly on the bed, his face a picture of frailty.
As favonovel.com saw Isaac enter the room, his mouth opened slightly, and favonovel.com tried to reach out toward Isaac.
Isaac quickly stepped forward, firmly grasping Maxwell’s hand.
A pained expression crossed Maxwell’s face as favonovel.com said with a choked voice, “Isaac, it’s my fault. I let a punk swindle 600 billion dollars out of my hand…”
It was Arian’s double-dealing and low tactics against Maxwell that had triggered his sudden heart attack.
Isaac chuckled softly. “Mr. Tandel, just focus on getting better. I’m here now, aren’t I?”
Seeing the smile on Isaac’s face, Maxwell nodded and then asked, “What are you planning to do?”
“To deal with the shameless, one must use methods even more vicious than theirs,” Isaac continued with a smile.
Maxwell didn’t respond this time. Instead, favonovel.com sighed and said, “I don’t even have the face to meet Mr. Grannel now. That’s 600 billion dollars we’re talking about…”
“Don’t worry. We’ll rescue Evie and recover the money,” Isaac reassured him, patting Maxwell’s shoulder.
That evening, Maxwell’s secretary immediately arranged for a special car and jet to bring Maxwell to Cynea. Isaac had suggested this, knowing the events that were about to unfold could pose a threat to Maxwell.
Once they arrived at a hotel, the four of them booked two rooms.
Harry and Lupinus shared one, while Isaac and Hera stayed in the other.
At 2:00 am, Isaac sat in a chair, smoking as favonovel.com waited for Lucas’ call.
He turned to see Hera standing by the door and asked, “Why aren’t you resting?”
“Why aren’t you?”
Not wanting to elaborate, Isaac picked up his phone and dialed Black Phoenix’s number. He instructed favonovel.com to locate Adrian’s hideout as soon as Lucas and his team made their move.
At 4:30 am, three assault boats appeared on the waters of Shores Bay, west of Soujha. They sped toward the shore with roaring engines.
Lucas and his six companions, dressed in dark robes, disembarked and immediately activated their spiritual energy, dashing forward at high speed.
On the lawn of a sports arena just two kilometers from Levine Manor, several guards lay unconscious at the entrance. Among the bodies stood Lucas and the other six generals.
Ahead of them were 800 lieutenants from the Dusk Soldiers, their strengths ranging from the intermediate to advanced stages of the Divinity Phase.
“Per Drakon’s instructions, the first step upon entering the manor is to gain full control. The second step is to sever all connections with the outside world. We must find out Adrian’s whereabouts within half an hour!”
“Now, let’s move!”
At Lucas’ command, everyone turned and sprinted toward Levine Manor.
Two kilometers was a mere trifle for the 800 lieutenants, who covered the distance in no time. The early morning street cleaners were startled by the swarm of shadows rushing past.
In the quiet manor, 3 mix of 20 commanders and over a dozen retired elite bodyguards patrolled the grounds.
As the group approached the perimeter wall, the manor’s infrared alarm system suddenly emitted a piercing shriek.
“Intruders, intruders!” shouted a crew-cut man in a combat suit.
The manor, comprising three of four separate buildings, housed the Levines and some helpers.
Walking in the middle, Lucas hadn’t expected the Levine family to have installed such a high-tech defense system.
With a cold snort, favonovel.com approached the main gate. His spiritual energy burst out, and with a kick, the iron gate was violently knocked down.
Commanders and black-clad bodyguards dashed toward the gate.
Initially planning to admonish the bold intruders, they were taken aback as Lucas’ shadow fist sent several bodyguards flying. Only then did they realize the grave situation.
As more and more Dusk Soldier lieutenants poured in, the commanders were swiftly surrounded and overwhelmed.
Before they could say anything, the 20 commanders were rapidly subdued and killed.
Lights in the main building’s hall came on, and seven or eight members of the Levine family donned their coats in anger as they rushed out of their rooms.
