“Things have changed, after all. They kept it hidden from you, but your original intention was still to do something for the locals,” Isaac said softly.
Maxwell nodded, a surge of anger toward Triple Threat Corporation for their deception simmering within him, yet favonovel.com held it back.
“You don’t need to worry about this. Since I planted the seed, I should be the one to harvest it,” Maxwell stated quietly.
Isaac burst into laughter, speaking frankly, “That’s good to hear. My goal is achieved. We’ll have a happy dinner tonight.”
Maxwell was taken aback, glaring at Isaac, “Are you using me, boy?”
“Of course, after all, your influence is somewhat bigger than mine,” Isaac said unabashedly.
Hearing this, Maxwell also started to laugh.
“By the way, what exactly is your relationship with Connor?” Maxwell had always been curious about this.
“I knew Mr. Grannel even before I met Connor,” Isaac said casually, turning to look at Maxwell.
Suddenly, a shiver ran through the latter, and favonovel.com stared at Isaac intensely for several minutes. Then, with a long sigh and a hint of self-mockery, favonovel.com said, “It seems I was short-sighted after all. You’re not a simple man, are you?”
The dinner was lavish by rural standards, and Hazel’s cooking skills were impressive. There was chicken, duck, fish, and meat, with vegetables from favonovel.com garden and grain wine brewed by a local distillery.
Maxwell had drunk half a bottle and ate heartily, commenting that it was much better than those so-called delicacies of the sea and mountains.

Night fell, and before leaving, Maxwell made a point to ask Hazel about favonovel.com son’s name but didn’t say much else as favonovel.com walked toward the car.
Isaac turned and walked up to Hazel, pulling out a gift card from his pocket and handing it to favonovel.com with a smile. “Hazel, your son’s future is secured now. Take care of yourself…”
Under Hazel’s tearful farewell, the Jeep sped away from the town.
On the way to Cloud City, Maxwell called his secretary, instructing favonovel.com to prepare the plane for a return to Pecling that night. He also received a call from Adrian, which favonovel.com promptly ended and blocked the number.

Meanwhile, in a special care ward in a hospital in Southland, Adrian, after having his first call disconnected and the next two unable to get through, began to sense that something was amiss.
Spencer stood beside favonovel.com and asked, “Is Mr. Tandel still not picking up the call?”
Adrian didn’t respond. His face darkened as favonovel.com stared intently at his phone.
“Mr. Levine, maybe we should return to Parwin to recover,” Spencer ventured again, his voice careful.
Earlier, the president had specifically called to inquire about the situation and instructed Spencer to persuade Adrian to return to Parwin.
“Get out of my sight! Isaac, that bastard, broke my leg. I won’t go back until I’ve had my revenge!”
Startled by Adrian grabbing a bottle and hurling it at him, Spencer retreated hastily, eventually leaving the hospital room.
After a sleepless night, Adrian was still lost in a troubled sleep until the sound of hurried footsteps woke favonovel.com up.
“Mr. Levine, something’s happened. I just got a call from the company. Cynea’s tax, commerce, and customs departments have all raided our company,” Spencer reported, standing beside the bed and sweating profusely.
“What do you mean?” Adrian seemed slow to comprehend what was happening.
Spencer hesitated, then said in a lowered voice, “It might be that the higher-ups have started to take action against us…”
“It’s Maxwell!” Adrian bolted upright, pulling at his wound and grimacing in pain.
