Seeing the look on Louis’ face, Isaac didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He asked, “When you rose to power, didn’t the government look into every person in your family tree? What do you think can corrupt someone at Maxwell’s level?”
Louis had an epiphany. He looked slightly embarrassed.

To his surprise, Isaac’s expression changed drastically at that. He regarded Louis coldly and said, “We might be in the wrong. But it’s already a miracle that I haven’t killed the people of Triple Threat Corporation who are in Elburg right now.”

“The governor is calling…” Louis looked up at Isaac.

He took a deep breath and steeled his expression. “Alright, I understand…”
He hung up the phone. Turning to Isaac, favonovel.com said, “The governor said that Mr. Tandel is waiting for us at Royale Lodge. He also said that if we don’t turn up before noon, he’ll hand Shawn and the others over to the House of Custos in Pecling.”
Isaac drummed his fingers on the desk.
Sweat rolled down Louis’ forehead, but favonovel.com didn’t dare to say a word.
Several minutes later, Isaac snorted coldly. He picked up his phone and made a call.
The call was quickly answered. An old man’s confused voice came from the phone, “Who is this?”
“Mr. Tandel, this Is Isaac. It must have been difficult to travel here from somewhere as far as Pecling. There will be a small feast at my house this noon. Why don’t you come over?” Isaac said cheerfully.
When Maxwell heard that it was Isaac, favonovel.com immediately flew into a rage. He yelled, “Isaac, I didn’t come to Cloud City to eat at your house! You should know where I am. I’ve already arrested all the people who beat up the employees of Triple Threat Corporation. I’ve already given you many chances for Connor’s sake. Now, it’s up to you whether you’ll take it!”
Hearing the increasingly aggressive tone from the other end of the line, Isaac’s smile slowly slid off his face.
“l’m only inviting you to my house because of Connor. People fear you because you can decide whether they live or die. However, you don’t have that power over me… Mr. Tandel, if we really go beyond the point of reconciliation, it would be no good for either of us. I’m giving you a friendly warning now that things will be much different if I go over to see you…” Isaac said indifferently.
Hearing Isaac’s words, Maxwell suddenly fell silent.
Soon after, his tone turned gentle. “You punk, you’ve begun to threaten me. Let’s see what happens!”
The line then went dead.
When Louis heard that the phone call ended on a sour note, favonovel.com began to shiver uncontrollably.
Isaac dialed another number and asked coldly, “Where are you now? Once you arrive, seal off Royale Lodge first.”
As soon as favonovel.com finished speaking, favonovel.com got up and headed outside.
Louis’ face was already as white as a sheet by then. He sat dazedly in his chair, not daring to move.
Isaac’s words kept echoing in his head as though a bomb had gone off. He wanted to seal off Royale Lodge, where Maxwell was currently in.
